Pros: Worked after I used it for 3 months, my doctor told me it would take 4-6 weeks to become effective, continued for that one month after it was effective. Cons: After a month of effective use, it seemed my skin got used to it, adapted, and got worse than it was before I used the product. Bottom Line: Results will vary, my acne wasn't that bad to begin with and I hadn't had acne for years then it popped up and I got medicated but it hasn't helped. Pros: Cleared up my acne much better than tetra or doxy. I also use topical for my face. I used it in high school and it cleared up my face so after college when I started to break out again I went back on it. It cleared up my face in about a month! Cons: I take it at night so I don't feel sick. I have just started to get more breakouts but I think that might be with the weather changing to summer too. I also get chemi peels and use tazorac. I'm 25 and this seems to be never ending. Bottom Line: Give it a try, this just might be the medication that works for your face! Recommended: Yes Usage: Jenna has used this item for about a year. Pros: It cleared up some of my cystic acne. Still have a few bumps here and there, but it cleared the bad stuff up. Only been with it for a month, hopeefully I get even more better results next month :) Cons: Very expensive if you dont have insurance! Since the acne is going away, I'm being left with some scars. Don't really get the side effects, mainly because I take it with food (Which you aren't supposed to) Bottom Line: Get it and try it. And if you are having bad side effects with it, take it with food or maybe with some juice. Recommended: Yes Usage: Evan has used this item for about a month. Pros: It is very affordable Cons: I have noticecd major mood swings, Im depressed, and cant sleep Bottom Line: The doctors should really get an understanding of you before they put you on it because I was a happy outgoing fun girl and now because of taking this drug not only do I still have acne but Im DEPRESSED. Pros: No sides effects for me whatsoever, worked quickly, saw improvement within a week Cons: Have to watch when in the day you take it and with what Bottom Line: I had been on this before, however, it had stopped working - or so I thought, so I ceased taking it. The last prescription I filled, had a label on it that the other jars never had - stating YOU SHOULD NOT TAKE THIS MEDICAL WITH MULTIVITAMINS, CALCIUM or IRON... ummmmm, because I'm on Depo I take HUGE quantities of Calcium - and since I don't want to be popping pills all day, I would take this med with my vitamins and calcium - according to the pharmacist - this med binds with the calcium and renders it ineffective, which would explain why it "stopped working"... not on it again, very happy, take my multivitamins and such at dinner, and 100mg of minocycline at bed. Pros: Definitely cleared up my persistent clogged pores and whiteheads within 2 weeks Cons: Made me lightheaded the first couple of times I took it, turned the edges of my gums purple! Bottom Line: I loved this stuff cause it worked and it's not a total pain to take like doxycycline. Too bad about the pigmentation side effects -- I had to get off it. I hear this side-effect is uncommon so I guess I'm just unlucky. Pretty cheap if you can get the generic. Recommended: Yes Usage: Michelle has used this item for about a month. Pros: works well.. i had spots on my face chest and back. now they are all gone just after taking the pill for about 3 days.works like a charm. i luv it! Cons: several side effects.... make sure you discuss this wid ur gp.. acne reappears if you stop taking them but just make sure you use this with other treatments 4 better results! Pros: works very well for me and clears us most acne Cons: only con is that once you stop taking drug the acne returns. No side effects Bottom Line: Bottom Line. As u can see from all the comments, individual results can vary. Try topical treatments first, but if all else fails like it did for me, try the oral medication and see how well it works for you!
