My daughter had a bad reaction to this drug as well last May. She took it for a couple of months and then started getting severe headaches, blurry vision, could not focus with both eyes open, tiredness. There was no help for her acne whatsoever. She ended up with 2 spinal taps, an MRI and a CAT scan. Her spinal pressure was way too high, her nerves in her eye were swollen and there was added pressure to her brain. The neurologist gave her some medicine to relieve the pressure and reduce the swelling. She took it for two months, was feeling completely back to normal within a few weeks and is thankfully now fine. For Chris USA I would recommend talking to his doctor about medication to relieve pressure and reduce swelling. I wish I could recall the name of the drug. It so helped my daughter.

I've had acne since I was 10 years old. I still have it 5 years later. But so far Minocycline has been the best treatment for acne I've ever tried. I think before I tried Tetracycline (can't remember if it's the right name) And I started to work, but I got really dizzy and felt sick and confused. So then that's when I tried Minocycline.

It took a good 8 or 9 weeks to kick in, but I stopped having outbreaks of whiteheads, (and those painful red lumps? Anyone know what I mean?) and generally all my spots began to calm down. I took it from last summer up to Christmas 2005, there were no bad side effects, just little improvements in my acne. Friends used to tell me how much my skin had imporved.

But then I finished my course, and they started to come back really badly. I wasn't sure if I could carry on taking Minocycline - or if taking it for longer would make any further improvements - so I turned to dianette. I'm typing this now after having taken that for a month and a half, and my spots are worse than ever and my periods are really heavy. It's working backwards! So I'm considering going back to Minocycline.

Minocycline is worth a try before moing onto Dianette or the dreaded Isotretinoin. Doesn't work for everyone, but not everyone will have all these side effects.

I started using Mincycline about 2 and a half months ago. I started with an acne regimen when I was 8, and I'm now 15. I've tried SO many different things -- differin, BP, Salycilic Acid, clindamyacin, dermabrasion, a tazorac. My dermatologist prescribed minocycline along with clindamyacin and my tazorac. I have not seen any improvements. I spend almost 500$ a month for these pills and nothing is happening. It's actually getting worse. I don't have huge pimples, but I have TONS of clogged pores on my forehead that really bother me.

I have tried this product for about 10 months and I didn't see any improvements. This product actually made my acne worse, belive it or not. My face just got very dry and irritated and also I started to feel dizzy every once and a while. I would also fall asleep frequently for no reason at all...basically passing out in a sense. This product is very frustrating and I seriously disliked it for the fact that it just does not work, well, for me anyways. If I had to give my oppinion to someone who is about to use this product, I would say try something else first and use this as a last resort. But different things work for different people. I have seen many of my friends try this product and seen drastic results over the period of about 2-3 months. But this is a product that I was very dissatisfied with.

While taking Minocyclin for a month I felt very tired, dizzy and had terrible headaches. I then started to get "tunnel vision" where I could only see through a pinhole, while all peripheral vision was dark and out of focus. I saw a neurologist, an opthamologist, had an MRI and MRA. As it turns out my optic nerves are swollen due to a reaction to minocyclin. I am hoping that these side effects go away soon. It has been a month and a half and my headaches and vision have improved only slightly. I'm not sure how much longer I have to wait! I hope that it is nothing more serious.

THIS IS AN AWESOME PRODUCT. I have adult acne and was trying everything to make the knots go away. Within 2 weeks no more knots, I still have the scaring but that is what the Retin A is for. Besides we all know scars are just that scars they are getting less and I will have to live with that. The antibotic didn't give me any side effects at all. This was a miracle for me. I recommend it to everyone to at least try it. Im glad I asked my doctor for help with this nasty problem.

well i've been using this stuff for two months and i've used pretty much all the over the counter stuff; proactiv, neutrogena, all clear, oxyclean etc, and none of it worked that well. Now i'm on minocycline and retin- a micro and the number of pimples have gone down but my main problem is the scarring left behind from old pimples, the severe dryness of my whole body, not just my face, and the pimples that i still have are just as bad as before but there aren't as many. Another thing is that this seems to have some emotional and mental side effects to... my doctor agrees and says that many male teens like myself can have this side effect w/ minocycline. it's kinda of like your concern and dedication to things drops severely, like you have no drive to do anything... but maybe that will pass and maybe the rest of my acne will clear up so i'm gonna stick with it
