Is it just me or has anyone else gotten oral thrush from this? It worked wonders the first time I took it, for about a year. Then gradually lost its potency. This second time around it worked somewhat but got a really unusual side effect (thrush). Then again, I'm not sure I followed the directions to the T.

I've been on minocycline for approx two weeks and my skin has gotten much better yet I have experienced headaches. Now I'm getting really ichy everywhere on my body. Is this a side effect or is it the begining of an allegic reaction to the drug.

I've read some good reviews for this drug, but it was just awful when I tried it. I normally have mild acne, but about a month after I started taking Minocycline, I broke out with CYCTIC ACNE for the first time ever. It was so painful! I stopped taking it a few weeks later and haven't had that problem since. Still haven't found something that works, though...

I started using Minocycline about 3 months ago and my face has been completly clear ever since. When my doctor prescribed it he said the only side affect would an increase change of yeast infection. About a month ago my lip got really swollen ...so swollen that I looked completly deformed. This happened again twice and I had no idea what it was from. I also starting getting hives all over my body about every second day. I looked up the side affects on the internet and realized that these are side affects of minocycline. I also became extremely sensitive to sunlight, burning pretty much every time was exposed. I just stopped using it so these side affects would stop but now Im breaking out like crazy. I think its an awesome medication if you dont experience the annoying side affects.

I tried minocycline and it worked really well at first. It was the first thing I tried for my acne that wasnt OTC and I was soo excited because something actually worked! Unfortunatly after 6 or 7 months it stopped and my acne slowly came back. I've tried a few other antibiotics and the same thing has happened so maybe its just something stupid with me. It really does work well at 1st though
p.s. they say to be careful of the sun but the summer I was taking it I just got really really dark but never burned. (and I'm mostly english)

I took minocycline for a couple months, and it seemed to work pretty well. However, after the 3rd month or so, I started to get an achy feeling in my hands that eventually spread up my arm and finally to my entire body. The doctors felt that I had either lupus or rheumatoid arthritis, but the tests kept coming back negative. I have never been in so much pain..I could barely function, i.e. pull a sweater over my head or walk up stairs. A rheumatoligist finally said that some cases in Europe had similiar effects, and each had been taking minocycline. Once I stopped taking it, I felt completely normal again.
My advice to you: If your family is prone to joint problems, please ask your doctor about taking this drug beforehand. I don't want anyone to feel the way I did.

The minocycline seemed to help with my acne initially, but unfortunately it had a bad side effect on my body; namely, my face ended up half paralyzed because the minocycline affected some of my cranial and optic nerves, causing them to become inflammed. As soon as I stopped taking the minocycline, the paralysis began to lift, and now my face is back to normal. Admittedly this is most likely an uncommon side effect, but people should be aware of it

I had been getting persistent hormonal acne for about a year, since I hit 40. Never had it as a teenager! Docor recommended Minocycline and it worked like a dream for me. Within a week I could see a slight improvement, within 2 weeks my acne was all but gone! Incredible! I also used Tea Tree oil on the spots (cysts) and drank gallons of water. Had minor hormonal related breakout of one or two spots a week ago but these cleared up straight away. I have been taking Minocycline for about 4 weeks now. No bad side effects for me whatsoever. I wonder though, do I need to keep taking it indefinately or for a few months? My doctor just gave me a one month supply.

So So Dizzy. Using it for rosacea and it appears to be making my face less red. i'll definaltly stick with it. Having a clear face to me is more important than being dizzy for a few hours after i take the pill.
