Pros: It seemed to help me stay clearer. Cons: I had an autoimmune reaction caused by this drug. Counteracts the birth control pill. Bottom Line: My reaction was extremely rare...so rare it wasn't even listed on the side effects pamphlet that the pharmacy gave me. My doctor had to tell me because it was so rare. It was constant pain in all my muscles and joints for months because my immune system started attacking them (I had to quit my job it was so bad). After more tests that I can remember, one of my doctors finally suggested I stop taking it and the pain gradually went away after several more months. I have never felt the same since. Pros: works for about a week then never works agen Cons: cheap prescribed stuff that dosent work i have spots on face back neck arms and chest didnt even clear 1 up Bottom Line: dont buy if ur want to get rid of them for ever buy if ur going to a praty and u need to get rid of them asap Recommended: No Usage: reece has used this item for a few months. Pros: Didn't do anything bad to my skin. Cons: Made me incredibly nauseous. Bottom Line: So I figured I'd go through and review everything I've used, because I have used a LOT over the last 12 years. This particular antibiotic made me crazy sick, which is weird, since I normally never have reactions to antibiotics. I literally had to leave class to throw up, but didn't make the connection to minocycline until several days later, when I was still puking after every meal (after which I would faithfully take my pill). I stopped immediately and the symptoms went away at once. Didn't really have a chance to see how it worked for my skin! Recommended: No Usage: Heidi has used this item for about a week. Pros: Kept my acne from getting worse. Cons: Kept my acne from getting worse but didn't improve it either. Overall, the product didn't work for me. Bottom Line: In the end, this kept my acne from getting worse but it didn't make any go away either. If using this combined with a topical gel does not work then you may want to consider talking to your dermatologist about using Accutane. Pros: It worked within the first month of taking it. Cleared my acne to almost nothing. Cons: I stopped taking it for awhile because I forgot to call in my prescription and after 3 or 4 days of not taking it, one pimple came back. Bottom Line: I started taking it about 4 or 5 months ago, within the first month my skin cleared dramatically. I take it everyday, two times a day. My acne was so bad I didn't want to show my forehead, so I kept my hair longer. But since taking it, I get my haircut more often and I'm liking my shorter hair. I tried everything for a year to try and get rid of my acne, and this finally did it. I take it with a full glass of water, and before breakfast and after dinner, even though you're not supposed to, but I've had to bad symptoms yet. Pros: helped skin on face a little, but that was about it Cons: mood swings like crazy, and made my back and chest break out like no other. hasn't helped Bottom Line: Overall, it seems like it will work in the beginning, and then it just makes everything worse. Makes you really irritable all the time, and makes you nauseous to the point of gagging if you dont eat, which is what it tells you to do. dont do it. Pros: Cleared up most of my acne :) I am only left with a few blackheads... Cons: It took a couple months for most of the bumps to go away. As long as you have the patience, it's works great. If you miss one day, you will FOR SURE break out in the next couple of days... For the first couple of days, it makes your skin dry :( Bottom Line: It works absolutly great if you can wait for the results. I have tried everything from Proactiv to Neutrogena and this is the only thing that worked for me. Recommended: Yes Usage: Bree has used this item for about a year. Pros: it works a little i guess i like it becuase i dont have to focus on washing my face all of the time in the shower and its cheaper then anything like proactive Cons: i havent had much when i first week used it i was dizzy but it got over real fast it wasnt bad Bottom Line: its a good product i still have some acne but definetly not as bad Recommended: Yes Usage: jdon has used this item for a few months. Pros: 50MG CLEARS UP BACKACNE INSURANCE COULD COVER Cons: ONCE YOU STOP TAKING THE PILLS THE ACNE COMES BACK Bottom Line: IF YOU ARE WILLING TO STICK TO THE PILL TAKING IT'S GREAT HOWEVER I'VE NOTICED THAT IT ONLY CLEARS UP MY BACK NOT MY FACE. Pros: Well, for one, I do believe that I see a minor improvement on my back area; the once flamboyantly-red-blotches have receded to minor (albeit noticeable) marks. Cons: At first, I had begun taking one pill every morning for a week; no side-effects, nor any results. After this time, my doctor instructed me to take two. The result: nausea, abdominal cramping/bloating, dizziness. Oh, but, alas, some noted improvement. Bottom Line: Try it, if you must. If you can tolerate the side-effects or, perhaps, do not experience any, then, all the more to you. Nevertheless, if you are searching for a miracle pill, I do urge you to look elsewhere. (My friend is on Accutane- she had the most severe acne I have ever seen, and now, her skin is akin to porcelain! Be wary of the initial instances of severe dryness, however. Oh, and be prepared to haul around facial moisturisers and chapsticks like religious fixtures.) Recommended: No Usage: Shall not be known... has used this item for a few weeks.
