I have tried proactive, all over the counter face wash, and birth control pills and none have worked. After taking mino. for just 1 week now i have already seen a huge improvement. The only side effect seems to be tired, but for a beautiful face I can put up with that.

Been on it for two weeks now in conjunction with ethromycin, and the few new new pimples that have appeared are only slighty inflamed, but are going away now and will hopefully be all gone within the next week. Absolutely no side effects so far. I asked my dermatologist about your body becomming immune to its effects and she said that it would not happen. Probably different for everyone though, so I wouldn't take that advice as a certainty.

I've been on 100mg of Minocyline for a year and it has NOT helped at all. I even used Retin-A w/the meds and nothing has helped. About 3 weeks ago I developed cystic acne (something I have never had) and this stuff has not done its job.

I never had cyctic acne. I only had mild acne, with the occasional big pimple. 2 weeks ago i broke out around my mounth with 4 cysts all in a row onthe right side of my face. My doc had put me on minocycline before, but i had never used it. Then he put me on it again. Its now been about 12 days and the cycts are barely visible. Im VERY VERY happy with this medication!

The is my first week on minocycline. I have tried many products: microderm abrasion, reten-a, biologes products, pro active, and recently doxycycline and reten-a. Last night I noticed a brusish spot on my neck the size of a dime. Has anyone experienced this?

I started on minocyclin last week. After the third dose, the pain of the side effects were so immense I could barely walk, and I have discontinued the treatment. I experienced the worst stomach pains i've ever felt, droswiness, dizziness, very strained muscles and an overall sense of slight deppresion. These effects began 1 hour after taking the first tablet and dissapeared 2 days after the last dose, with the help of painkillers along the way.

I haven't had time to see the full effects of the drug, but I still haven't had a new spot on my face since taking the first tablet 5 days ago. Something unheard of for me recently.

I'd much rather go back on accutane as the side effects are less noticeable

Not quite sure how it works yet, I have beed on it for 2 days now and today I have had a migrane all day! I also have had a queezy stomach. I am not sure if it is from the minocycline or the other topicles I am using in conjuction with it?

Posted comments in february. Been on minocycline now for nearly three months. In the first couple of months it seemed to be making my scarring more red and the spots were still there but now i still have the scarring but the redness has reduced no end and i only have the odd spot at certain times of the month. Its great and has really boosted my confidence. i feel so much better for taking these tablets. Hopefully they will carry on working like they are at the moment so it enables my scarring to clear and may be i will be able to wear less make up that would be nice. hope this helps others.

It's a wonder drug. I have no side affects and have not had one blemish since I began using it. For the first time in my life my skin is completely clear. My only fear is that I'll build up a tolerance to it and it will eventually become ineffective. I've been on it for 9 months. So far, so good.
