I've been on this drug for about the past three years. For the first year it worked decently well, after a month or two it really helped clear things up, but it never cleared my spots up completely. I also remember getting dizzyness/headaches in the morning although they weren't that bad, I found taking the minocycline with food helped. Once I got it more or less under control I tried cutting back to one pill a day to no avail, horrible breakout within the next 2 months. However, it gets worse. In the past four or five months my joints have gradually stiffened and it has spread from my hands to almost every other joint there is in this time. Some mornings I can barely get out of bed or walk, I feel like I'm 70 years old. Went to rhuematologist, sent me in for major blood work and everything came back normal. He couldn't explain what was happening, then I read about the side effects of minocycline. In very rare cases, it can cause joint swelling/pain/inflamation, and I do believe this is what is causing all my pain. I've been off of minocycline for the past 2 weeks, and my condition hasn't gotten any worse for the first time in months. It's starting to improve, but it can take anywhere from 3-6 months to get out of my system. Please, please, please be cautious while taking this drug! And if you get inflamed joints, quit it as soon as possible. You don't want to go through this like I've gone through this.

While the minocycline did clear up my face it caused severe palpatations in what i believe was my gallbladder. i saw someone else mention heart palpatations - i went to the doctor and they said it was causing my gallbladder to go into spasms. after stopping the medicatoin, everything stopped and i got better. i am now trying doxycyline and benzaclin ... For the record -- Benzaclin has been the best topical - i have ever tried i love it.

I have been on Minocycline for almost a year, its been brilliant. I understand this stopped working for some after a year, but i used Minocycline with a combination of Proactive, it did my skin wonders. And it still is, with no side effects. I would recommend this product.

I just started using this together with Tazorac last week, and both of them dried up my skin really fast. However, no other side effects yet. I hope this works!

Ive been on a combination of differin cream and minocycline. My doctor told me mino is the same as the other proudct mini-mice. I hope he told me the truth.. anyway differin makes my skin VERY dry, while i've been on the minocycline for 5 days and my skin is alot more smooth and my redness is disappearing. Differin working very well also, helps prevent and remove pimples.

I have been on this drug for just over 12 months...like a number of people have said, i too experienced terrific results until about a month ago...my skin is now twice as bad as it was before i went on the Minocycline/differin gel combo...i must say i had NO side effects whatsoever though which was good...

I had NO facial acne when I went on this med. I was in the Drs. office for a routine physical and she noticed a few spots on my back, so she prescribed it. Now, I have HUGE bumps in big patches all over my back AND I'm starting to get acne on my face. I am going to stay on it tho, to see if it does get better in the long run.

When I first first was placed on Minocycline, it didn't take effect until a month. However, when it did start working the results were amazing. Perfectly clear skin for about a year. That is until after almost exactly a year of using it, my acne came back, and was double as severe as it had been before the medication. My dermotologist said sometimes the different anitbiotic forms of tetracycline just kick out and you have to switch to a new one :(
Now I've been on Doxycycline for a month with no results. Too bad Minocycline didn't work forever, but I highly recommend using it until you become immune, because I had no side effects.
