I was prescribed this by my dermatologist who recommended I take up to 100 mg (2x a day). First day I took only 1 dosage and experienced itching and hives along my arms and slight dizziness. Day 2, I followed through with the full dosage (200 mg) at night and woke up the next morning to full blown fatigue and dizziness. Day 3 I took the full dosage again at night, the next morning I awoke to the most painful stiff neck, my head was heavy, trouble breathing-- I basically felt like I had a very bad flu!! Thanks to this website and other people's ratings, I now know that this drug is the culprit. It's been a full day since I stopped using it and I am still feeling the most horrible flu like symptoms! HORRIBLE STUFF! Be cautious with this drug. I do not recommend it.

I never had bad skin until almost exactly a year ago and I broke out with this itchy rash on my chin that turned into hundreds of tiny blisters. It went away after a few months, but now, around the same time of year, it's back again. I went to the doctor and he told me it's perioral dermatitis and some people just get it for no reason and I may have to take Minocycline for a few months or a few years. I was on the pill, which I stopped altogether, because what's the point if the antibiotics reduce its' effectiveness anyway? So far I've noticed a very minor improvement, but I've only been on it for about a week. I can't remember if this was the same oral antibiotic I was on last time, but it turned my teeth grey. They stayed that disgusting colour for about six months!!! I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but I think it is causing me to get blemishes because prior to Minocycline use I had perfect skin except for the rash and now I have blemishes near my eyes and nose.

So I usually have great skin, but about a month ago I broke out horribly along my forehead and cheeks. It was so embarassing. I finally got up the courage to leave me house and go to the dermatologist and he put me on mitocycline pills. I have also been on a new birth control pill called Yaz for about a week. Combined with the mitocycline pills I've only been on for two days, my acne has decreased in size at least 50% which I think is great for just two days of use! I have read the comments how this product did not work for others, and that is unfortunate but all medications react differently for some. While this might have done nothing for some might do miracles for others! It's just like ProActiv, which did not work for me but I know people who sware by it. I guess mitocyline is worth a shot?

I have been on Minocycline for 2 weeks now and it has worked like magic! I'm using it in conjunction with ProActiv (which I've used for years but has lately stopped working as well as it had been). Minocycline is the only thing that has cleared up my skin so nicely and so quickly. It's awesome!!!!!!!!

Minocycline and all the other cyclines do work well form acne. I am a 40 yo caucasion female with acne. Never had acne as a child. I've been on every drug under the sun to include isotretinoin for over a year. After taking the last dosage of minocin for about 3 weeks, I developed allergy symptoms to include hives, swelling of the face, tounge, lips, feet, and hands. I started the course again after on week, only to deveol the same syptoms only less severe. My advice is: Be aware of adverse reactins. They are bad. Especially bad for me was the body aches and loss of focus because of a feelinf of sickness. It felt like I had the flu all the time. It's been 2 weeks now and I still don't fell 100 percent better.

Worked alright for my back, also stopped me from getting whiteheads on my face. However, my skin was continually red and patchy, and it has been getting better since I STOPPED taking the minocycline.

Been on it for two and a half weeks. It didn't work at all. In fact, my acne seems to be getting worse.

It's working wonders on my skin! Pimples have completely disappeared. Caused slight dizziness when I first started taking it but has since gone away as my body has adjusted. Fantastic medication.
