49 yr old male. Had acne since I was a teenager.I was on Minocycline (Minocin) for a long time with no real improvement in my acne. The only thing it did for me was to permanently change the pigmentation in my skin around the eyes and temples. This is a common side-effect and I would urge everyone to be very careful when using this drug. Check your skin colour regularly. It looks terrible and in my case is worse than the acne.

Reduced the redness and sheer size of the papules. Its not too bad but makes you depressed

Great. Made my skin perfect.

8 months later it does not work anymore. Antibiotics are useless, as the bacteria, like all living organisms, will adapt and become immune to the drug. A warning for all, don't delude yourself into thinking it has cured you. It has only masked the acne.

I have used almost everythig on the market, including Accutaine (very abrassive) and Pro-Active (didn't work that well for me). Ironically, Minocyclin is the cheapest and has better OVERALL results than anything I have tried.

i have been on it for about 2 months and my skin is looking clearer and feels smoother. i still get mild breakouts. only side effect is slight dizziness. i'm not liking the idea of taking 2 pills a day though. it can't be good for a persons body to pump it full of antibiotics everyday

Works really good. Got the tip from this site. I have used minocycline now for 3 months. Almost no acne at all atm, maybe some small pimps once every second week. If you live in EU you can easily order it over the net or get it subsribed. Minocycline is a bit expensive, but its sure worth the costs when it works.

Hope this medication works as well on the rest of ya!

I used it for only 6 months but had to stop only because it was really expensive! I am not sure why people have been saying that it is cheap because it cost me about $105 CAD for a bottle(90 capsuls). But it did work for me and I didn't have any side effects that I know of! It did not clear up the red spots that happen when the pimples subside but all around it was pretty effective.

Been on it two weeks, no real results but no side effects. I combine taking minocycline with benzoyl peroxide creams the panoxil bar for the shower. I also take various supplements such as Flax Seed oil. we'll see what happens

It worked great for the first three months or so, then I stopped (like an idiot) and had the worst acne of my life. I tried starting it up again for four months but it did nothing. I think the trick is to follow the instructions religously, however confident u feel about your skin. The side effects were intermittent but bad. I suffered from muscle weakness and fatigue, and as a rugby player it affected my game badly and knackered me completely at school. Just read the label and the leaflet and understand exactly what you have to do, and what might happen as a result. N.B. For affordability i rated 5 because as a UK student i don't have to pay for prescriptions. I have no idea how much it would cost in the US or elsewhere, sorry.
