| Pros: | Has cleared up the majority of my acne for the past 2 years. |
| Cons: | Made skin sensitive to sun for the first month of use, make sure to use lots of sunscreen. |
| Bottom Line: | I still get a few pimples occasionally but i didn't expect perfection. Good to try if you have tried other treatments without success and before going on accutane. Very light side effects, so i think it is worth trying. |

| Pros: | Been on it for 2 months. Had very light acne on chest and back - completely cleared that up. Forehead is completely clear as well. Still have acne on face - didn't do much yet for my face, but I have seen some improvement. Was free with insurance. |
| Cons: | None really. Was slightly dizzy for the first 3 or 4 days of use, but that's it. |
| Bottom Line: | Give it a try. I'm happy with the results so far and will continue for another 2 months. |

| Pros: | Clears up acne and takes away the pain of acne. |
| Cons: | It caused me to become dizzy, have frequent headaches, and break out in itchy hives all over my body. |
| Bottom Line: | It worked great for acne but it had horrible side effects. I do recommend it though because everyone is different. |

| Pros: | Cleared up acne initially with minimal side effects. No dizziness, nausea, or anything like that for me. |
| Cons: | The clear skin never lasted. Plus, I used it for too long (on and off for several years). This caused my acne to go down deeper into my skin, and also caused blueish bruise-looking things under my skin on my thighs and calfs. |
| Bottom Line: | I think minocycline will work fine for a short-term clearing, but don't expect your acne to stay away. And definitely don't be stupid like me and start ordering it off the internet. I was more sensitive to the sun, so be sure to wear plenty of sun block.
I really think acne can ultimately outsmart broad spectrum antibiotics. It comes back stronger and more stubborn. Be careful with minocycline and don't stay on it very long (few months).
I've put "No" in the "Recommended?" question. However, I think for short-term clearing it's fine. |

| Pros: | It helped clear the skin a bit, but didnt reduce scars or anything speacial but it made me feel more comfortable in my own skin |
| Cons: | No cons, just wished it would be more powerful |
| Bottom Line: | I would try it, it works, and you still have a few pimples here & there but that is to be expected because nothing is perfect |

| Pros: | Started clearing up my skin within the first couple days. No dryness or skin irritation. |
| Cons: | I got almost all of the side effects you could. It made me extremely dizzy and lightheaded, also I felt very nauseous for the first few days but all the side effects have gone away now. |
| Bottom Line: | I am still waiting to see full effects, which my dermatologist says will be by the two month mark, but I am satisfied so far. I have tried nearly every otc facewash including clean&clear, proactiv, nuetrogena, clearasil, and acnefree; and this has worked better than any of them so far. Hopefully everything keeps getting better with time!! |

| Pros: | It seemed to help me stay clearer. |
| Cons: | I had an autoimmune reaction caused by this drug. Counteracts the birth control pill. |
| Bottom Line: | My reaction was extremely rare...so rare it wasn't even listed on the side effects pamphlet that the pharmacy gave me. My doctor had to tell me because it was so rare. It was constant pain in all my muscles and joints for months because my immune system started attacking them (I had to quit my job it was so bad). After more tests that I can remember, one of my doctors finally suggested I stop taking it and the pain gradually went away after several more months. I have never felt the same since. |

| Pros: | Didn't do anything bad to my skin. |
| Cons: | Made me incredibly nauseous. |
| Bottom Line: | So I figured I'd go through and review everything I've used, because I have used a LOT over the last 12 years. This particular antibiotic made me crazy sick, which is weird, since I normally never have reactions to antibiotics. I literally had to leave class to throw up, but didn't make the connection to minocycline until several days later, when I was still puking after every meal (after which I would faithfully take my pill). I stopped immediately and the symptoms went away at once. Didn't really have a chance to see how it worked for my skin! |
