Pros I found it to be very effective for clearing my acne scars (red marks) and helping prevent new breakouts.
Cons Pricey, I paid around $380 for 5 treatments. May be too harsh if your skin is very sensitive or if you're currently using creams that dry your skin out.
Bottom line Not a long-term solution for active acne, but very effective at eliminating post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (red marks and dark spots) relatively quickly.
Price paid $380.00

Pros I had my first treatment and I've already notice a different. It left my skin feeling smoother and refreshed. In fact, I'm already seeing my acne scars diminishing. I was told that after 3 treatments, I will see a huge result, which I can't wait.
Cons Expensive
Bottom line Anything to reduced sign of aging, diminished acne scarring is worth the price!

Pros microderm left my skin feeling smooth all over. it softens the look of my acne scaring and helped with dark spots left from blemishes.
Cons face was red for the 1st day after treatment. there is no pain involved though, just make sure to moisturize
Bottom line i have scarring after years of suffering with acne. microderm does nothing for deep scars, but does wonders for my less severe scarring. my family says they saw results after my 1st and only treatment. i can't wait for my second treatment.
Price paid $95.00
Acne severity moderate

Pros Clears acne and scarring, and your face feels extremely smooth after.
Cons Your face is red and sensitive for a couple hours after.
Bottom line Extremely worth it, especially if it is covered under your insurance like me. I saw results after my second one!
Price paid $20.00

Pros smooth skin, smaller pores etc etc etc but if you want to get rid of acne forever...
ACCUTANE IS A MIRACLE WORKER! use it for 4-5 months and u will NE VER have acne again!! ACCUTANE ACCUTANE ACCUTANE ACCUTANE!!!
acne dissapears within 3 weeks!!
Cons none
Bottom line I cant believe so many of you had bad experiences with MICRODERMABRASION!!!
I LOVE IT!

I think its great! My facialist does the micro treatment, then steams my face , gives me a mini glycolic peel and then does extractions, the microderm removes all the dead skin , so if you do extractions immediately after, it is a lot easier and less painful.

The only down time is the redness caused by the extractions ( squeezing ) and the peel, and its gone the next day. Other than that ur face is a little red for a couple of hours. Definitely not weeks like some people mentioned, well at least not for me.

It only makes sense that if u remove the dead skin from ur face , it reveals newer , softer one. i usually do it once a month and the cost including the peel and extractions is 130.00$
IMPORTANT==== make sure u go somewhere reputable, if its done wrong, obviously u wont have good results. If its too cheap (innexpensive) beware...i believe that in many cases u get wha
Price paid $130.00

Pros leaves skin soft and somehwat improves red marks leftover from old acne
Cons Is not a dramatic enough change to warrant the cost.
Bottom line I had a series of 6 microdermabrasion treatments done at my dermatologists office, scheduled one month apart. My skin felt much softer nad it did help a tiny bit with old acne marks but not enough to warrant paying $70 a session. It did nothing for my melasma either. it was a nice exfoliation though but overall I think this is highly overrated.
Price paid $70.00

Pros glowing, perfect skin!
even on dark, indian skin!
Cons dry skin for 2-3 days after treatment
also, the process is not a luxury facial...it hurts! but worth it.
Bottom line hi everyone. I had severe acne and went on accutane ( roaccuane) which worked wondersfor my acne, but my scars remained. I tried gentler things for a yr, then 2 mths ago started having 2 wkly microdermabrasion ( CACI Chromaclear which combines it with light therapy). After the first session, i was so disappointed--my face was red, sore and very dry. I almost cancelled my second appointment---but im so glad i didn't because from the second one onward (have now had 4) my face is so fresh and smooth, the dark pigmentation from the scars and some of the pitting even is much, much less! mY face recovered quicker with each successive treatment and my face is so much better -i no longer wear make up.

Pros This product is great it helped get rid of scars and clean out the pores. My skin was super soft afterwards.
Cons If your insurance doesn't cover it it is very expensive. leaves your skin red afterwards(only for about 2 hours). You have to take between 6-18 sesions depending on your skin condition.
Bottom line I would definately recomend this because it helps your skin ALOT! My insurance covers the cost so it is very cheap for me. Due to my skin condition i only need to take 8 sessions to get the desired out come.

Pros I got the Origins lemon & rice microdermabrasion cream. It obviously does nothing for inflamatory acne, but in one use it DRAMATICALLY reduced the size of my pores and made my skin texture smoother. in 2 weeks, my whiteheads were gone.
Cons doesn't do anything for giant zits
Bottom line pair this with a antibiotic cream for big zits.
the origins microdermabrasion gets rid of the other stuff the zit cream doesnt.
it's about $45 for a tub of it that will probably last you a year
Price paid $45.00
