Pros: Helping to reduce current acne, past scares and redness are practically gone. The skin around my acne is the best it has ever been. Cons: Discomfort, and peeling for the week or so afterwards. Bottom Line: I am doing this to treat my current acne and past scars. So far it has been very successful in treating my past scars. I have not had a problem and would highly recommend this. For those who have had problems are you going to a licensed and trained enestician who has the proper medical training? If so I can't see why there are so many problems. The only huge downside is the cost. I have a package of 6 treatments for now. Maybe more in the future? My treatment is also followed by a peel. Pros: Leaves your skin smooth during the treatment Cons: Half way through 5 treatments my skin broke out worse than before i started having it but it cleared up at the end of the course, a few months later i was back to square one with mild acne. Does not doing anything with regards to closing pores or a Bottom Line: I payed £27 for five treatments which is not worth it, it is just a massive con that breaks you out in more spots, tbf the only thing that will help your acne are vitamin supplements, don't bother withj this treatment it will just give you false hope. Pros: Bright Skin , Smooth Complexion, Smaller Pores Cons: Stinging for a few hours, Redness Bottom Line: Worth it - can def see the difference and feel more confident. I am 35 yrs old - have no acne whatsoever but did have in my teens, I picked my spots despite being told not to and got left with deep scars and marks. i have a pretty face and would feel so much more confident without this on my face. Have been having microdermabrasion facials for a few years now - def makes skin look much better and makeup goes on more easily. Recently I changed my salon and starting going to a different lady, she uses a differnet machine and was a bit stronger pressure of crystals - wow - I can already see more difference in one session than I have seen in last few years - def worth it. 5 days on I can still feel a slight stinging - but thats good as it tells me something is working! I'm gonna take six sessions in a row and see if it makes my skin better. I already feel better , I wore my hair up today! Pros: No downtime, effective at healing redness, not painful, leaves skin softer. Cons: Can be a bit expensive, im finding that it is begining to make my skin a bit worser but my skin specialist said it does take time for maximum results as ive only just started the treatments combined: glycolic peels, omnilux blue(bacteria killer)& red Bottom Line: Try it and stick with it for about 6-8 treatments till u see the results. Pros: no downtime, no chemicals Cons: causes more scarring, doesnt fade hyperpigmentation,expensive Bottom Line: ive had more than 10 microdermabrasions. i had them done consistently. im not happy with the results. all it did was make my skin look smooth, sort of like when i use a soft buff puff. the mild acne scarring didnt improve nor did the dark spots. in fact, the microdermabrasion left me with more scarring than i started out with. it was a total waste of money. my skin cant handle strong peels and i also work a lot so i dont have a lot of down time so i thought the microderms were exactly what i needed. i was very wrong and i now regret having them done. Pros: Soooo, the procedure only lasted like 15 minutes. It does not hurt at all! My face felt a little hot when she was done but it cooled off before I left the Dr's office. It was also a little pink but NOT inflammed or red (yes biracial folks can get red Cons: ITS PRICEY BUT IT WILL BE WORTH IT IF IT WORKS...NOT TO MUCH RESEARCH ON IT JUST YET Bottom Line: ***** I GOT THE HYDRAFACIAL***** From all that I have gathered this is a new type of treatment. Im guessing that it stems from microdermabrasion. I saw a aesthetician today and got it done because I'm NOT confident that these Doxycycline pills are going to work. I also told her that I have tried everything (reg facial, proactive, otc cleansers, vitamins) and needed to get some results. Im 30 and tierd of breaking out. Pros: Made pores look smaller Cons: Where do I start....perforated skin, left hideous burns and scabs Bottom Line: I went to a very reputable medical spa to receive a Microdermabrasion treatment (which I had had before with little to no pros or cons). I had two very small scabs on my face from old blemishes that were hardly noticeable. After the treatment I noticed that these spots had turned into red, oozy, raw messes. I assumed the person performing the micro knew to be NOT go over these areas. My face hurt but assumed it would be better by the next day. No such luck. I woke up with what looked like road rash in several places and a scab so large in one spot that it looks like I got into an auto accident. I can't believe this has happened. I called the office and they told me to come in THREE days later to follow up. Will never do this again. You should never mess with your face. It will take at least a week for it to at least look normal enough to be covered with makeup. Recommended: No Usage: Mickie has used this item for an inconsistent period of time. Pros: gets rid of acne faster than any topical cream ive used. helps scarring-- skin feels much cleaner and fresh afterwards Cons: dryness 2 to 3 days after. skin is sensitive for a couple days also. Bottom Line: my dermatologist reccommended it and also reccommended putting me on spuronalactone (forgive my spelling) it is medicine for blood pressure but he said it eliminated the male horomone in my skin that causes horomonal acne and it has worked great. the topical he gave me was called azelex and it also works very well. he also told me something i was doing wrong making my acne worse and i was using dial and ivory soap to wash my face with and he said that was one of the worst things i could rub on my face he reccomended neutrogena facial soap or equate soap and ever since i changed soaps it has made a huge difference. he also mentioned mineral makeup helps- he said almay, sheer cover would be a good choce and said to never use clinique or estee lauder because they have recently changed their chemicals and it causes worse breakouts and skin irritation for some people Recommended: Yes Usage: ciara has used this item for about a month. Pros: Smoother skin after first treatment. Not painful. Cons: Very expensive for the results you get Bottom Line: I have done 4 treatments, and it was supposed to be in one of the best clinics in town. I have dark scars from acne in my back and face, but I am not impressed with the results at all!! I may try chemical peel for now, see if I get better results.
