I've completed 5 months of accutane, the first month on 40mg and the rest on 80mg. My acne hasn't gotten any better and my hair has really started to thin. I've been trying to decide wether or not to stick the course out and finish the last month at an upped dose of 120mg or just call it quits and try to get my hair back to normal. It's a hard decision for me because there's the thought of just one more month and maybe my skin will clear up, but there's also the thought that with another month at an even higher dose i could be losing all my hair and still have terrible acne. If anyone has had this experience or can offer advice i would love it. thanks

I've been on 80mg for almost 5 months now and things are still worse than before I started accutane, not to mention the red marks and scars that have accumulated. I wish I could hear from someone else that has had the same problem it would be reassuring. I still have 2 months left on my course, but I'm just getting fed up with this never ending, stubborn acne. It's the same spots over and over again in places I never really use to have trouble with? Is anyone else having the same trouble?

Aight so I've been taking 40mg of Amnesteem for the past 8 days now and I finally gave into the urge to make a log. Partly because I think it could be interesting to look back on this all one day, I mean like when I'm a ripe old man, and hopefully have a high enough mindset that i wont have to worry or care what others think of my appearance, even if this doesn't work. So basically I just think this is an interesting part of my life and I might as well have something, if not an accutane log to look at later on down the road.
Well basically this is the part where I tell you my name and boring stuff like that
I'm a dude guy. My name is Seth,"Fitzy" is what the homies call me, and I live in an urban forest in Oregon.
I'm studying art and whatever else I feel like. Maybe some spanish and music classes.
Well I don't have to write out everything today, I've got hundreds to go.

Well I've got some dry lips but nothing to cry about, my skin is still oily but I think a little less than normal. I never really count how many active i have but i have a lot haha, thats all i need to know. I'd say i might be a little more tired than usual but really nothing too noticeable.

Hopefully I keep this posted with current photos, I have a fairly good cam. so things might appear to come out at you.... don't be scared though eusa_naughty.gif ...
this is me at first glance haha

Well I've lurked ninja.gif around this forum long enough, and I figured that since I got prescribed accutane today this was monumental enough to start doing some of my own contributing to this wonderful and supportive site.
A little about me: I'm a college student at the University of Oregon (love it here), Ive suffered with mild to moderate acne for about 8 years now, but it wasn't until this year that things started to get severe. As of now I'm constantly in a struggle with multiple cysts along my jawline, sides of face, back, and chin, I've got it pretty good or bad you could say. Today i had my first appointment with my new derm. (who told me about her own accutane experience and surprised me to hear that she had acne because her skin looked great) and I am pleased to say that after trying everything to clear this mess I am going to give accutane a five month run. gimme.gif I got my blood work done today, and I should be popping my first pill in the next couple of days(starting at 40mg a day and moving up to 80mg a day after the first month). I must say my confidence has taken a bit of a dive during these past few months but it hasn't stopped me from being optimistic or going out and enjoying life like everyone deserves too(good friends help). Well it seems that my story is all too familiar and i won't bore anyone further. I just wanted to finally say hello after a good year of using this site. wink.gif
