Ziana vs Retina A Micro

My son has been on Retina A Micro 0.1% for for about 4 months, the Derm had given him some samples, during the day the uses Bp wash and Clindamycin.

I went to the Derm today and asked her to write me out a a Rx for Retin A Micro I told her I would pay for it since I didnt want the generic version the insurance pays for, she said she had a coupon but when she came back in she had a coupon for Ziana she said it was the same thing.

If he switches to Ziana will he have an IB again, he has no acne right now only red marks.

The reason I didnt want the gereric version of Tretinoin was because of one one of the ingredients it contains that clog pores, not sure if the Tretinoin in Ziana contains this, if it does then if defeats the purpose of me wanting to pay for the Retin A Micro.

I would really appreciate some suggestions.

Stopping Doxy

I was weaning my son off Doxy he went from 2 pills 100mg to 1 pill everyday for 2 weeks, this weekend I was gonna start him on 1 pill every other day. today I took him to his allergy Dr and he has a sinus infection, she told him to stop taking the Doxy and to take SPectracef 400mg twice a day for 10 days.


Now the weaning process is gonna be messed up, I dont know how his skin is going to react, has anyone had to stop taking there acne antibiotic because they had to start another antibiotic for other issues?

After the 10 days should I continue the weaning process of Doxy?

Weaning off Doxy

I read you have to wean off Doxy, my son is taking 100mg twice a day for 3 months, should he start weaning off on the 3rd month? or I have another refill for Doxy that the Derm gave me by mistake and start weaning him off on the 4th month?

He is starting his 3rd month now so I really need some info ASAP, thanks

Retin A Micro vs Tretionoin

The Derm gave my son samples of Retin A Micro 0.1% because I told her my insurance will only pay for the genric brand Tretinoin Cream 0.05%, she told me to start off with the Micro because it would be alot less irritating,then switch to the cream,

My questions is after he finishes the samples should he switch over to the Tretinoin cream or would it be better to stick with the Micro and just pay for it?

Nicomide and Doxy

Can I take Nicomide 750mg tablets if I am On Doxycycline? I cant remember if the derm said to start the Nicomide after I am finished with the 3 months course of Doxy or to take it at the same time.

Has anyone used the Generic Nicotinamide ZCF 750mg by Rivers Edge? Wondering if its just as good as the brand name.

After the 3 months of Doxy should I wean myself off of them for another month?

I also use in the morning Brevoxyl Creamy Wash, Clindamycin lotion and Ceptaphil SPF 50 at night I use Dove soap, Retain A Micro and Emu Oil.
