hi,
id like to know what people think of the vitamin B5 brands out there, or what brand has given the best results. im currently taking acnemiracle's brand but i wish to change just to see if i can reduce my oil production even more (and acne). it works, but i wonder if there are any other brands that would work better! this thread will help alot of people, please share your experience and opinion!

I use Solgar pantothenic acid, which is a capsule. Also take Solgar biotin and male multiple to supplement the pantothenic acid. I like it.
But I think the powder forms are probably better for you in that they're more easily absorbed and already contain other supplements (like biotin and b-complex vitamins) to help balance the massive amount of B5 you're taking. I don't use the powders because I feel like it's too inconvenient. |

I guess the powders are cheaper too. I used Twinlabs and GNC and didn't notice any diff in quality between the two.

I'm actually gonna stick with basic 500mg Pant. Acid capsules and B-complex Capsules.
Each b-complex capsule has 33% of your daily value of Biotin. I plan on taking three a day along with 7-7- and 6 pills a day of b5. I would seriously recommend capsules at wholesale cost. Let's compare: NOW Presents: Pantothenic Acid http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/now/pan.html $10.45 for one bottle. Each bottle contains 250 capsules, each capsule 500mg Total of 125 Grams for $10.45 VitaCure b5 powder http://www.b5clearskin.com/vitb5clear1.html $27.95 for one container Each Container contains 250 GRAMS total So in essence you are getting 250 grams of capsules for $20.90-(2bottles xprice per bottle- $10.45) vs. $27.95(powder). This isn't the last step in equating out the differences. The b5 powder contains a b-complex vitamin while the Pantothenic Acid capsules require a further purchase of goods. So I will add in 25 days worth, or 75 pills to balance the costs. B-complex pills seperately can go for $8.49 for 100 Capsules. For demonstration purposes, we approx. take 25 days worth or 3/4 of the $8.49(25 pills @ 3 per day) and come with $6.37. The total costs comparison is: CAPSULES ($27.27) 25 days worth of b5 (250 grams @ 10g/day) + 75 b-complex vitamins (3 times a day for 25days) POWDER ($27.95) 25 days worth of b5 (250grams @ 10g/day) honestly, it all comes down to preference. (I looked and looked for the best deals on the powders and capsules and found these two sites) Add in the shipping fees of both websites and for one container of POWDER for 12.5 days, you come up with $33.70. Total with shipping fees for 2 bottles of Pan. Acid + bottle of b-complex = $32.26. Now, each website adds an additional dollar to shipping in increments, so they go rise in costs "together". Botton line, you save 44cents every 25 days if you buy the capsules. |
