okay so this post is about to sound insanely rambly/crazy so i apologize for that in advance. i have had to visit 4 dermatologists to finally have 1 of them say yes to accutane, a low dosage of 10 mg and possibly 20 later but generally 10 mg, and this was with lots and lots of pleading. anyway, because at the moment I don't have any active pimples I decided to not take accutane but now i'm kind of nervous about my decision and wondering if I should go on it. i mean it was a lot of effort..lately i've been really good about not freaking out about my skin but I looked at it just now and it just looks sooo red and wierd to me..i don't know. so i was wondering if anyone knows if accutane makes the skin looks "prettier" for lack of a better word and if it would be extremely unwise to take it in order to prevent any future pimples. im sorry i sound so lame im just really freaking out cry.gif

Sooooo I bought this moisturizer by dermalogica and i'm going on accutane (yay) later this month and was wondering if it's okay. It says "a skin smoothing cream recommended for drier or prematurely aging skin". It says "contains no artificial fragrance of color" but it doesnt say "noncomedogenic" and stuff anywhere andddddddd i cant tell if it's okay. help?!????????????/

Okay so this post might sound a tad crazy, but that's my current state of mind due to the fact that 3 dermatologists refuse to give me accutane and i'm going to visit another this week, but in the meantime I thought I might as well try to fix my eating habits incase they could be contributing to my breakouts. Basically, my acne started a year ago. My skin ranges from being clear, very mild, to mild. My diet consists of 3 or more cans of sugarfree redbull which all I know about it is it has taurine and tons of coffee, frozen yogurt, and then like candy or something for lunch and a real meal at dinner. I know my eating pattern is slightly unhealthy, but I don't know if it could be contributing to acne. Also sometimes I eat a lot of sugary food and no "real" food. Also, I was wondering if throwing up a lot could cause acne? I really don't know, i'm honestly so confused about if my diet is causing my breakouts. I'm reading a lot of stuff that seems like diet does play a factor, and all my derms. told me it doesn't but now it seems like they may be wrong?? HELP! i'm SO lost cry.gif Oh, i'm also a vegetarian.

So I was reading the "would you date someone with acne" thread and it made me curious...I know some guys said they wouldn't date a girl with acne and some said they would. For guys who would never date a girl with acne, it is like a complete dealbreaker? Like as soon as you see a pimple you think the girl is just repulsive or undatable or whatever? I was also wondering when you say you would never date a girl with acne, do you mean like you'd literally break up with someone if they had 1 or 2 bigish pimples and blackheads? I don't know, I hate dating in the first place because I always think if a guy sees a pimple he's secretly thinking i'm disgusting and undatable so i'm forced to wear make up like overnight, etc. And how about hooking up with girls? If you think someones hot and don't notice a pimple at first as soon as you notice it are you guys like immediately turned off? I'm just curious what people really think because obviously i'm not going to bring attention to a pimple when with a guy, then they'll really notice it. ugh.

so my dermatologist gave me retin A sometime ago and ive been using it on the occasional big pimple. I'm not sure if i'm applying it correctly-are you literally supposed to put it right on the pimple without spreading it? or are you supposed to apply it to the whole area even where there are no pimples? Also, sometimes (okay, most of the time) I go overboard and use more Retin A than I should-can that spread the acne more or is it okay?
