#3350854 Going Out On A Date... Thank To You Guys :)!

Apparently, it's hard for some people to simply be supportive to a member who's going on a date. Personally, I've totally had it with the negativity in this forum lately. I understand that people have their issues, but having acne is no reason to talk rubbish. Get a life!
Good luck on your date, AmbitiousOne! Don't let these negative
get to you! And let us know how it went! ![]()

#3346587 Scarless Healing
Posted by AKL
on 07 May 2013 - 01:30 PM
I just made a thread with the correct term 'scar free healing', since in this thread the term is the decrease of the scar (scarlees healing).
Scarless = without scars.
And if we offtopic all here, is because we have nothing to say ... but we are desperate people (all here), so I think that judge and warnings about our behavior is something no human, as this thread should be to 'here come those who are very desperate and we have a little tolerance with them' ... so we have not insulted account, we have only attacked a bit (which is different).
Insulting/harassing and accusing people without any proof whatsoever isn't going to heal scars either, so it's probably best to just say nothing then.
I've removed even more posts (thanks to the member who brought it to our attention). Behave yourselves, people! It's really not that hard.

And I'm closing it. Have some patience until the original thread is reopened. It's not that there was much going on there anyway, apart from mocking and false accusations. I'm sure you can wait another day.

Topic closed for now, until we've had enough time to go through all the rubbish. It'll take some time, in the meantime please take the insults and false accusations elsewhere, they're not appreciated here.
#3345115 Will The Cost Of Shipping Internationally Improve Anytime Soon?
Posted by AKL
on 02 May 2013 - 02:56 PM
Hi Lilly75,
Someone else has started a similar topic about shipping costs here: http://www.acne.org/...-international/
I agree that paying more for shipping than for a complete Acne.org kit is a major turn-off for people outside of the US. The cheapest option is already pretty expensive, but if you want your package to be traceable, it's completely disproportional with UPS being the only option then. Let's hope that they'll find a way to reduce those costs, so the Acne.org products will be much more affordable to overseas customers.

Several posts removed/edited. If you can't play nice, then don't play.
And please keep in mind that we'd like this to be a safe place for all ages. Vulgarities and explicit language will not be tolerated (please refer to the board rules to see what's allowed). Thanks!
Thanks to the member who reported it and to the member who was criticizing my poor attempt to clean up this topic ![]()

I don't know about the number of packages leaving the Acne.org warehouse everyday, but if the volume is high enough, they could negotiate better shipping costs. I know that one of my clients saved about $40,000 a month, only by talking to a different courier (DHL instead of UPS). Companies like iHerb ship to Europe for as little as $4 (no insurance/tracking), and choosing DHL over UPS saves about 50% ($12 vs. $24, both offer track&trace). Quite a difference. Maybe something to look into.

Excuse the duck face pic...i find it weird to just smile and take pictures of myself.

Holy cow! Like Brandy (but much later, obviously), I only just saw your before pics. Congrats to you, really good to see the amazing transformation!

I've just tried deleting one image. That works, as long as you're on the details page. In the overview page, deleting a picture doesn't work (nothing, not even an error message). I've changed your album settings to "Private", so no one else can see the pictures now.
@Admin: this is the error message that appears when trying to delete an entire album:
#3338797 Admins: Why On Earth Get Rid Of Oily Skin Forum?!?!?!?
Posted by AKL
on 05 April 2013 - 05:35 PM
But the problem with mixing forums together and making more people see threads is it makes it harder for people to find threads they actually want to read.
Good point, and personally, I didn't have a problem with the old layout, I found it easy to navigate and go straight to the (sub)forum addressing a specific issue. But apparently, many members did have a problem with it, considering the fact that they kept posting in the "wrong" forums. So I do understand why Admin decided to merge some forums to make things easier, not for the moderators, but for our members. I guess there will always be people who are unhappy with the fact that "their" forum got merged, you'll never please everybody. And the oily skin forum, as well as the acne research forum weren't that active, not to mention that especially the acne research forum was more often than not used for speculation instead of research. And the oily skin forum was sort of a record on repeat with little new input. So I understand why Admin decided to merge them with the general acne forum. But -as you've pointed out- after some discussion, some forums are back now. I've moved about 18 pages of topics from the general acne forum to the oily skin forum. If you guys find topics that you think should be moved there as well, please feel free to PM a mod about it (warning: if you PM AyeAye, you have to throw in a cookie as well
).

Welcome aboard, NormaLife! I'm really sorry you're going through this, but please don't give up. You may just as well have no acne anymore in just a couple of months, seeing that you're on Accutane. With "scars" you mean red/dark marks? They'll go away, trust me, it just takes time. Hang in there, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!
