#3421697 Accutane Journey

Posted by rachelll1995 on 21 March 2014 - 10:06 AM

There isn't a specific reason as to why you should not, but I have found(and many other people) that it makes the dryness, redness, and irritability much worse. Since accutane already makes your skin dry, red, etc., make up can sometimes add to the problem and make you break out a bit since your skin is already really irritated. If you haven't noticed any of these yet then I guess you're fine smile.png . Everyone is different! For me, wearing make up while on accutane causes a bit of a break out and makes my skin much more red.

ok thanks for the advice :) i wore just mineral powder and blush today but while i felt my skin could breathe, the red marks that still showed were horrible...i think once the red mark start fading a bit, i'll start wearing just powder but for now, cover fx water based foundation is essential :P i dont think this makes me break out either b/c its for acne prone skin! feels very light on the face.

#3417388 Do You Find Other People With Acne Hard To Look At?

Posted by rachelll1995 on 28 February 2014 - 09:56 PM

Well, what if they are in the middle of a treatment and are in the process of trying to get rid of their acne? acne can get dramatically worse in no time (what happened to me) and just because its severe, it doesn't mean they don't care about their skin. my acne is bad and i would do anything for clear skin (on accutane currently), but if someone thought that i just let it get this bad because i didn't care, i would be very upset. i wish people would realize the emotional distress that us acne sufferers go through. when i see someone else going through the cystic acne, nodular, whatever, it just breaks my heart because it is like looking into a mirror. i know that they are trying to be strong and keep their head high while all they want to do is hide and not be seen. it would break my heart if someone looked at me and thought my face was gross or stomach-turning. its hard enough already.

Wow thank you SO much for your detailed response!! Means a lot that you took the time to write all this :) And I'll follow your advice, my skin doesn't seem irritated atm so I will continue until my skin reacts differently. I hate how cystic acne is so stubborn and takes weeks to go away...and some not even completely.. mine have literally been there for ages :( The road to clear skin seems so far but I know there is hope!!
