#3487972 Makeup Help?:(

Posted by tracy521 on 15 July 2015 - 01:53 PM

i use dermablend leg and body cover and the coverage is fantastic! it really helps to hide my indents and my raised scarring. i cant say enough good things about this stuff. it has spf 15 wont break you and stays put for at least 12 hours with the setting powder. i used to use their concealer as my foundation but they changed the formula which is why i switched to the leg and body cover. i also like the intense powder camo foundation too it covers very well. i used to use esteel lauder maximum coverage in the blue tube and that stuff is great too but since i get so oily it tends to slide off my face.
good luck!

I've been really curious as to how Dermablend would work on my skin. I've heard great things from it. However, I do believe that it is more pricey than standard brands of makeup and I would probably need to buy it online. I'm hoping one of my relatives will allow me to purchase it at least to sample, considering how I don't have credit cards and such to buy online.

i buy mine at ulta and the best part is if you dont like it you can return it and get your money back. that is what i love about ulta is that they let you return any used makeup. the dermablend leg & body is the only foundation that helps me feel normal on a daily basis. it works so well that people dont really believe i have pretty bad scarring. the tube of this stuff is huge and its $30 plus tax so you should probably last for at least a year. one of these days i will do a makeup tutorial with this stuff because it even amazes me -ha!!

i find i can use any thick foundation but i have to use a washcloth to remove it after i've cleansed and then follow it up with a toner. it doesnt matter how well you wash your face there are always remnants of dead skin and makeup on your face once you are done. i use TN Dickinson's witch hazel toner everyday and then a few times a week i use the proactive toner with glycolic acid as well.

OMG i love Dickinson's witch hazel toner. i think i've used it since i was about 15!!!

nice! as far as makeup i love dermablend. lol, i use their leg and body cover as my foundation because its nice and thick but it goes on easily and stays put for a really long time. it wont clog your pores either! i was reading reviews where people said they used it as their foundation so i figure it couldnt hurt to try it. i also like their intense powder camo foundation it covers so well. i used to use estee lauder double wear maximum coverage foundation in the blue tube and had good success with it.  it all depends on how much coverage you need. when i was younger and my skin wasnt so scarred i loved bare minerals and wore that for years. it goes on so easily and is great stuff.

just wanted to say you are really pretty and your scars dont look too bad at all. once the redness is all gone it will look so much better to you. i feel bad you are going through such a tough time but remember that you are beautiful and you deserve everything in the world. hugs!

#3484909 Excisions, Lasers......crying

Posted by tracy521 on 18 June 2015 - 01:16 PM

i am so sorry this happened but i would give it a few more months before you attempt to do anything else. it could fill in more with time. i would not do laser at all you wont get the results you want from it. i think down the road you could do filler or subcision with filler but i still would give it time since you are only a few months out. sending you hugs!

#3484662 My Ipl Log (Red Marks, Pie Etc).

Posted by tracy521 on 16 June 2015 - 12:45 PM

good luck! ipl is amazing but you have to have each spot zapped several times to see really good improvement as well as the intensity should be upped a bit in between treatments. make sure you go to a reputable place but you shouldnt need 6 treatments if they are doing it correctly. i get bright red marks from any sort of acne and i've only needed 2-3 treatments to get rid of my marks completely. anyway i cant say enough good things about ipl its so damn easy and there really is no downtime. if i had an ipl in my house i would be doing them all the time -ha ha!!

#3484661 Spiro Ruined My Face

Posted by tracy521 on 16 June 2015 - 12:40 PM

that is so strange about spiro. if anything spiro has kept me looking young these days and i just turned 38. its been a god send for me i cant say enough about this stuff. i dont see it as toxic at all its been the only thing in 16 years that has totally cleared me. it has changed my life.
sending you positive vibes glb2130 that everything will get better for you ;)

#3482594 Fraxel Dual Results

Posted by tracy521 on 29 May 2015 - 08:07 AM

i had the dual back in february and it took a good while for the inflammation to go away but mine was really only located on the one side of my face. the lady that did it went up really high so i am thinking that is why i was red for a while. anyway i called them and they told me to use hydrocortisone cream from the drug store twice a day on it for a week or so and that did help as well as just giving it time to heal. dont use anything harsh at all on your skin and use a good calming moisturizer for now and always wear at least spf30 or higher.

i would try a toner with either aha or bha that should help clear those out.

#3480641 Normal Hormones Level, Will Birth Control Help?

Posted by tracy521 on 11 May 2015 - 12:38 PM

I would ask your derm for spironolactone. That will probably be the only thing that helps you. I wouldn't bother with birth control pills at all. You will be safer on spiro than bcp anyway and it will probably work better for you.

#3479240 Just Another Day Of Emotional Defeat

Posted by tracy521 on 28 April 2015 - 08:21 AM

just reading your story is how i felt a few years ago when my acne and scarring were at their worst. i know how hard it is to get up day after day and try to go on when you feel so down and so bad about yourself its like you cant see a way out of this mess but i can guarantee you that it will get better and that your face wont always look this way. it feels so permanent now but once you can get clear there are treatments out there that will help your skin look a lot better i can promise you that. so what are you doing for your skin right now? what is your current regimen?
sending you lots of hugs and prayers today.

Posted by tracy521 on 23 April 2015 - 08:32 AM

its definitely looking a lot better! the healing time sucks but i think you will be really glad you did this. i think in a few more months those scars will be fairly non-existent.

#3476638 What Is The Best Scar Solution For My Scar?

Posted by tracy521 on 01 April 2015 - 01:36 PM

Just wanted to say that I hope the healing keeps going well for you and I wish you much success! I cant wait to see your updated pics when you get the stiches out. Will you have to get anything else done on these areas in the future or does the plastic surgeon think that the new scars will blend in well with your face? I am asking because I have 3 raised bumps in a row on my chin that have not responded to any sort of treatment and I am thinking about having them excised. I would rather have a thin line scar than 3 raised bumps on my chin it just looks so odd!
