Scarring The Day After Alcohol

25 November 2014 - 07:57 AM

Is it just my scars that look 100 times worse the day after drinking alcohol?!

I'm not sure if it's because I'm looking closer.

Has anyone got any tips to avoid this?!

Has Anyone Ever Heard This Before? - Laser Resurfacing In The Uk

25 November 2014 - 03:28 AM

Hi everyone,

I recently had an appointment with a dermatologist in the UK (Salford Royal, near Manchester) and they agreed to me having some laser treatment if I wanted it

The dermatologist then went onto say that because my scars are mild, the CO2 treatment wouldn't make that much difference to me.

I was always under the impression that it worked BETTER on mild scars??

He also said that CO2 works by 'shaving' the skin around the scar to make the scar look flatter? Again, I didn't think that was the case although I don't know too much about it

Co2 Laser Benefits

I have recently been to a dermatologist (laser department) and been told that because my scars are 'mild' that laser treatment wouldn't actually make much difference to my scars? I thought laser was better for mild scars

Co2 Laser Downtime

25 June 2014 - 02:32 AM

I am soon to have a test patch of this treatment done...

How long is the down time in peoples experiences? I know people have said a couple of weeks but would it be possible to go straight back to work after just a test patch?

I Can't Stress Enough How Much People Should Push For Nhs Scar Treatment

25 June 2014 - 02:30 AM

Sorry for the new thread but people might not have read my story on the other thread

Long story short...

Yesterday, I went for an appointment with the laser clinic at Salford Royal yesterday. The guy was great and took time to explain my options.

He said that he is happy to do a test patch but did say that he wasn't sure if it would help massively as he said my scars were 'mild'. He didn't for one minute try and put me off the treatment he just explained that there are risks involved which I obviously already knew. I'm going to go ahead with the test patch and see what happens

I asked him about derma roller and he said it is good but obviously not available on the NHS

I can't stress enough to people how much they need to push if they want something do but it IS available
