Are You A Protein Type?

23 August 2011 - 03:14 PM

I have a theory that a lot of people, especially those with persistent moderate to severe acne, are protein types.

A protein type under the metabolic type system is someone who has a type of in-born metabolism that thrives on fat and protein, but does not process carbohydrates well. This leads to all sorts of health problems, one of which could be acne.

So...are you a protein type?

Who Here Still Has Acne? Need help?

12 June 2011 - 12:15 PM

Anyone here still struggling?

Your natural regimen not working out?

Have diet, lifestyle or general health questions?

I'm here to help. I have some free time so if anyone wants to ask me anything, go ahead and I will answer in this thread.

I've been clear for about 6 years now from a natural regimen alone and I am ridiculously obsessed with health and acne, so I can answer any questions you have.

If you want some quick tips, I made this thread a while ago that will help a lot: http://www.acne.org/...et-t257706.html

Milk That Is Less Likely to Cause Acne

03 November 2010 - 11:27 PM

Hey guys, I know a lot of you avoid dairy and generally it's a good idea.

However, if you are an athlete that needs the calories/energy/muscle-building properties of milk or you just love the taste of milk, I have some good news.

There is some milk that I would deem OK. All milk is going to be slightly inflammatory, i.e. it could potentially cause more acne, but if you want to minimize the inflammatory effects of milk, these are my recommendations.

Healthy milk has these properties:

- Organic
- Whole milk
- Non-homogenized (aka cream top milk)
- Grass-fed
- Minimally pasteurized or raw is even better
- No added vitamins (the only ingredient is milk)

I made a video about it here: EDIT: Moving to new website soon.

I drink this sort of milk regularly with little to no breakouts.

The Clear Skin Cheat Sheet

06 January 2010 - 04:54 PM

I haven't been on this forum in a while, mainly because my skin is totally clear and my health is really good so I don't need to do much research on it anymore.

But I notice that there are still a lot of people struggling here, so I'm going to create this cheat sheet below on how to really get clear skin:

The Clear Skin Cheat Sheet

Theory: Cavemen, humans living in their natural environment did not have acne. Mimic the natural environment of your ancestors and you will not have acne either.

Practice:
  1. Eat a paleo-ish diet, according to your metabolic type.
  2. Avoid gluten as much as possible.
  3. Make sure you are eating a good source of omega-3s on a daily basis. Fish oil, fish, cod liver oil, etc.
  4. Take 4,000 IU of vitamin D3 a day or go sunbathing/use a tanning bed on a daily basis.
  5. Exercise daily, up to a sweat, with an intensity that is hard enough so that you are breathing hard. 15-20 minutes is enough to maintain good health daily.
  6. Sleep in complete darkness and go to bed and wake up around the same time everyday. Aim for about 8 hours of sleep a night and nap to make up any sleep lost if you are tired.
  7. Avoid topical ointments, cosmetics, etc., as much as possible. Put as little on your skin as you can handle. Currently I only use pure 100% coconut oil soap once daily on my skin and that is it.
  8. Avoid supplements and drugs (prescription and otherwise) as much as possible. These are not natural and will have largely unpredictable and bad effects on your body. It is very easy to bring your body out of balance using supplements and drugs, while it is very difficult to get your body out of balance eating natural foods.

Healthoid Back - New Acne Articles and Videos Coming - Video Inside

24 July 2009 - 12:57 AM

Hey guys, just letting you know that I'm going to be working on my health website Healthoid again and it will have some acne articles and videos very soon.

Here is my first video:

*Moderator edit, URL removed - read the board rules. *

Just to let you all know, my skin right now is 100% natural. I don't put anything on it, no BP, no moisturizer, no sunscreen, not even any soap. I don't use any supplements at all, and I eat about 95% natural foods.

In the next few days I'll write some articles and post videos about how I got my skin to look this way.

My skin is EXTREMELY acne prone, but by improving my health and paying very careful attention to my diet and lifestyle, I was able to achieve totally clear skin.
