I recently learned that BP actually slows down the healing process and therefore contributes to the red marks!

The Neaclear Liquid Oxygen system I have been using is really working for me. The moisturizer has vitamins and aloe that help heal the acne marks. And no BP. I have very little active acne anymore since starting the system. But now I'm working on getting rid of all the brown and red spots, (acne and sunburns) that I accumulated over the years.  I'm seeing improvement everyday.

Question: What exactly is IPL? Is it a light treatment or some type of laser treatment?

By the way, your skin doesn't look bad at all! Good Luck!

I hear you. I have been on this roller coaster for years. BP dries out your skin and when your skin is stressed it creates more oil and then you get rebound acne. I just discovered Liquid oxygen products that are really working for me - and no BP. For the first time in years my skin is clear and it isn't irritated - its actually soft and NOT greasy. Their blackhead astringent really cleared out my pores. I ordered their system from their website.

Proactiv contains benzoyl peroxide which dries out your skin. That is fine at first but then you get a rebound effect that causes more acne. So you end up with dried out skin that is oily. I was on this roller coaster for years. The proactiv bleached out my pillow cases and that always made me worry that I was putting something with such harsh chemicals on my face! I've been using Liquid Oxygen products for about 3 weeks. For the first time my skin is clear and it's also very soft. It's not nearly as expensive either.

In Topic: Benzoyl Peroxide Breaking Me Out?

I recently found out that  the way benzoyl peroxide helps acne, is also the way it can damage your skin. It works by destroying oil and bacteria that builds up on and underneath the skin. It cant tell the difference between good and bad bacteria, so it destroys the good bacteria as well, leaving nothing to fight off infection. I always wondered why my skin was dried out but I would still break out. I'm using Liquid Oxygen products that don't contain BP and my skin is clear AND soft. Not expensive either.  *Moderator edit, URL removed - read the board rules*
