About Me

I'm 24.  I started breaking out around the time I was 13.  I started with benzoyl  peroxide  but that dried my skin out so bad.  Then I broke out even worse.  The second time it made my skin extremely red.   My mom took me to the doctor, they tried washes and topical antibiotics.  Nothing helped until I tried differin a type of retin-a.  Lost insurance and had to switch to tretinoin.  Tretinoin didn't seem to work as well and I started getting red marks that would take a long time to fade.  Tried dans regime with the BP, that worked really well for 6 months or so...then started to work less and less.  The hyper pigmentation started becoming a problem for me again. So I tried switching to really gentil soap and face washes with no acne medication...began breaking out again so tried salcylic acid...helped s little.  Then back to the benzoyl peroxide.  I started experimenting with ascorbic acid and green tea...not much luck.  The only thing I did notice is it helped marks to fade a little bit.  Went to the dermatologist for the first time and she says I have acne rosacea and should not use BP or salcylici acid.  I'm using aczone (a topical antibiotic) and oracea an oral antibiotic now....hope to see better results soon.
