#3437658 Using Proactiv, Can I Also Use Something Prescribed For Hyperpigmentation?

Posted by Avada Kedavra Acne on 24 June 2014 - 01:44 PM

I posted this on another persons topic a couple days ago. Your goal is to clear your skin. A goal requires steps. For one to move onto the next step, prior steps must be completed to get to your desired goal. Worry about post acne marks after you are done clearing all your acne (or most of it). Give it another month or so. Then worry about it.

Its like trying to treat post acne marks whilst on accutane. You must finish that step you started and worry about the next later.

#3436421 Will Accutane Hinder Athletic Performance?

Posted by Avada Kedavra Acne on 16 June 2014 - 07:40 AM

It didnt for me- thats because i made sure to drink a shit ton* of water. Throughout the day- (obviously dont chug water before you start or you gonna puke)

I ran XC/Track everyday with an average or 8+ miles per day. and also biked for 30 miles prob a couple times a week.

So heres a bit of a check list

- Drink water

-Eat your veggies (I make veggy smoothies in the morning- if you want to know more about that just ask meee)

-But overall eat a well rounded diet

- Also because your lips will be super dry- eatting salty foods will make your lips sore and sometimes bleed. Like i remember it was hard for me to eat pretzils because the salt would just rip my lips off.

-Lastly keep all this in mind, but dont let you taking this med stay in your mind while working out- it helped me get through it.

-Good luck

dont worry about it till after the course is up! Its a multi step process- and before you can get to the next step, finish the one you have started. They will go away on their own, or you can use something like retin-a or tazorac post treatment to fade them. I prefer products like these because its not as abrasive then physical exfoliantss.

#3428396 Makeup For Hyperpigmentation: Almay

Posted by Avada Kedavra Acne on 24 April 2014 - 03:53 PM

everyone reacts diff to everything- no one can answer it but yourself :) Also a product may say acne-free or noncomedogenic (these two words are not regulated by the food/drug act- so any company can state this on their product purely for marketing purposes.)

So like i said- no one on here can tell you how this product will correlate with your particular skin- only you can know.

Good luck!

#3426577 New Member Accutane 2Nd Round 16 Yo Male

Posted by Avada Kedavra Acne on 16 April 2014 - 06:34 AM

good luck with everything! I finished accutane in october after a long 8 months on the meds. I still breakout a bit- its actually mostly in the crevis of my nose- if I'm describing the place right. I struggle with rosacea- so my original reason for accutane was to get rid of my mild acne so i was able to treat my rosacea properly because t was such a struggle using topicals for acne- it just in turn made my rosacea flair! So yeah. .... anyways good luck!!! !

#3426324 Your Thoughts On Facials?

Posted by Avada Kedavra Acne on 14 April 2014 - 08:51 PM

no - you do not need a facial. They don't know your skin- and they will use what they use on everybody on you. You have worked hard, you do not need a facial.

#3426042 Does This Look Like Acne Scarring?

Posted by Avada Kedavra Acne on 13 April 2014 - 11:45 AM

looks like hyper pigmentation, which is the red mark thats left over after acne or trauma to the skin. Scars are actually indentations in the skin.

Looking at the picture, something like tazorac or even finacea could help fade them. But if left alone will go away over time.

I can't remember the last time i drank anything besides water. In the first 3 minutes after i wake up i drink 850ML of water. And after with my breakfast another 800ML. It has helped me tremendously.

#3423045 Pretty Weird Scars? Would Dermastamp/roll Work Against These?

Posted by Avada Kedavra Acne on 28 March 2014 - 11:04 AM

From what i know, indented scars don't ever *fade* or disappear* on its own. Usually requires some type of dermatology help. I know its all personal choice, but i actually like the look of scars (acne or not). My brother has the same thing as you and i think it looks very nice. Thats just me.

#3420030 Extreme Back Acne/scarring

Posted by Avada Kedavra Acne on 13 March 2014 - 04:18 AM

ahhh i ran track/ xc for 6 years back in HS. I found that if i ran just in a sports bra that would help- but obviously weather conditions sometimes would impede this. Take a shower ASAP post workout. Dont sleep in any tight clothing (get a massive t-shirt to wear when sleeping) But also dont sleep just with a bra- even though its your bed bacteria can spread to your back from it if not protected. I find the best soap that helped me was *irish spring soap* Its nothing special, it doesnt smell like wonderful daisies, Its green...... and just soap. its cheap and usually on the drying side which helped me. \

Good luck!

#3419034 Please Help, Don't Know What Conditions I Have/treatments To Use

Posted by Avada Kedavra Acne on 07 March 2014 - 08:08 PM

You can either see a derm- or stop using all the products and just use water... just water. As strange as it may seem- you may be doing more harm than good.

Drink 3000-4000ML of water per day (water is important)

#3414134 What Skincare Products Are Your Favorite For Tackling Skin Issues?

Posted by Avada Kedavra Acne on 14 February 2014 - 03:23 PM

its odd- for me almost nothing.

Cerave Hydrating Cleanser about sums it up.

I really dont use a moisturizer or makeup on my skin because not only will i get pesky spots, but my rosacea turns into satin. I just cleanse to lightly clean the skin without stripping making it so i dont have to replace the moisture if i really scrubbed.

I get sad that i cant wear makeup but id rather not have to wear any and have clear skin then wear it makeup and not feel comfortable without it if that  makes sense.
