I am 13 year old girl, in 8th grade. I got my first blemish in 5th grade and thought nothing of it, but then in 6th grade the blemishes got persistent. I hated it so much, and still do. It wasn't until seventh grade that acne really got to me. In 6th grade, I would constantly have pustules around my chin area. Most of the time, I popped them because I didn't know any better, but they never scarred. But it 7th grade, it spread to all over my face but mainly my cheeks and forehead. I would get at least 1 pustule a day and I stopped popping them, but they would pop on their own and now most of the skin on my cheeks are all red and scarred up with hyper pigmentation. Towards the end of 7th grade, I started getting hard red papules that would turn into pustules and they would scare really badly. Currently (7/21/13), my skin is still like this. I am on vacation and entering 8th grade next month. Let me tell you about my skin type.
I have EXTREMELY oily skin. It's disgusting. Within 2 hours of cleansing, my skin is already oozing with oil, it's ridiculous. My skin currently still gets hard, red papules that turn into pustules. And more forehead had small, pesky blemishes that don't bother me too much, but I would still want them gone. They make my skin texture looks gross. Right now, my skin is doing pretty good. I about 4 days ago, I started a new routine and I only have 2 active blemishes (pustules) and the small blemished on my forehead but they seem to be diminishing. See my latest topic for my new routine. I'm not sure how this new routine is going to work to prevent blemishes, but we'll see. My main concern now is the hyper pigmentation. If I had no red marks, and only have the active blemishes that I have right now, my skin would look relatively clear. But the scars are just, ugh. They make life hell.
I also have bad body acne and many scars on my shoulders, back, upper arms, and chest. I don't even know what to do about it at this point. It seems like a lost hope, so I don't even try anymore. I will never wear anything with an exposed back/upper arms.
I may have sounded like my skin is fine now and the blemishes are under control, but they're really not. It may seem like it's finally getting better for a day, then BAM.. spoke too soon. I have at least 1 blemish on my face at any time. Anyways, I've joined this site to see if others can help me, or maybe I can help some of you. Thanks. And PS don't treat me differently because I'm only 13. I don't mean this in a bragging way, but I am VERY mature.
