In Topic: Started To Develop Cystic Acne...

Hi,

I know people ask this alot, but are you sure youre following the Regimen correctly and biblically? And are you using enough BP? Make sure you follow all the steps as it requires/states and make sure you use ALOT of BP. Not enough BP will only give you side effects and it wont clear your acne at all. Secondly, are you using Dan's products? If you're like me (i dont use Dan's products) then make sure theyre all NON COMEDOGENIC. If it doesnt say non-comedogenic, then rather than risk it just dont buy it. Find one that actually says non comedogenic in terms of moisturizer (especially), and cleanser. Also make sure your using a GENTLE moisturiser, not Clean & Clear and stuff along those lines (cuz that shit will dry your face so badly).

If you are following the Regimen closely and doing everything ive written above, maybe you're still in the purging stages... I found when i first started my acne (i have cystic acne- like you) got worse. I found that the BP was actually purging all the blocked pores that i had on my face, and hence making my face have more red pimple bumps than before. It makes sense if you think about it, because BP will try to clear all your pores and if you have blocked ones, BP will make it come out. Hopefully your skin IS just purging. It'll die down after a while but make sure to be EXTRA GENTLE with your BP application, and cleansing etc etc. Seriously, i cannot stress that enough. AND MAKE SURE YOU USE ALOT OF BP. And i mean ALOT.

Dont worry, we're all going through/went through the same process. It took me 2 and a half months to be completely clear of acne. Im currently maybe 3 weeks clear? My face hasnt broken out at all. And getting here took a while! Dont worry, YOU'LL GET THERE! Stick with it, and just soldier on. Trust me. It's SO worth it.

Hey man!

I LIVE IN AUSTRALIA TOO! and im male. so double score.

Ive been battling moderate-severe cystic acne since i was 13/14... and even though im male, much like you, i get excessive in terms of wanting to take care of my skin. I would get self conscious about myself, not want to go out with friends when my skin is having a bad day (though it feels like that everyday...), and it would bring down my self confidence. I can relate to you. Especially since i spent most of my teens up til now (im 20) being worried about my face. You're not alone. Don't worry.

Have you considered going on the Regimen? I know the Acne.Org products are expensive to ship overseas... ive went through the same process. Its unlucky we live in Australia eh? BUT, there are products that we can get here in Aussie that are cheap and well worth getting.

I'm in my third week of the Regimen, using these makeshift products and its giving me results so far. They are all very kind to my skin and treats my extremely sensitive skin as gently as products go:

Cleanser: QV Gentle Cleanser- its relatively cheap and VERY accessible in Australia. QV is frekkin everywhere in Aust it seems. Its really gentle, and forms a kind of matte over your face which allows you to glide nicely. The only downer is the smell. Smells like glue, but i dont mind it.

Treatment: Galderma 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide. I got this at ChemistWarehouse for about 12 bucks... and one tube lasts me at LEAST 2 months. Its a water-based gel which is really good and doesn't clump on your skin.

Moisturizer: Avene Hydrance Optimale- Now this is a tad more expensive, but trust me its so worth it. So, SO worth it man. Its very soothing to the skin, and it hydrates well. I paid 20 bucks for the 40mL tube which lasts me about 2 months also. Its very very gentle. If you don't like this then i'd recommend the neutrogena Sensitive Skin Moiturizer. Its a bit weaker in terms of moisturizing than the Avene, but it does the job.

Follow the Regimen, and be patient. You need to climb the hill and you're going to want to quit so many times. I quit the regimen 3 times previous because i just didnt have the balls to go through the bad initial side effects of red skin and itchiness. This time i've stuck it out and im glad i did. Your skin will get so bad initially, because your skin is 'purging' all the acne thats clogged in your pores, so your skin will probs look like absolute shit for the first 2 weeks and maybe even the first month. Wait for the redness to go down, wait for the purging to stop, and soldier on. You WILL get clear. TRUST IN THE SYSTEM. If you want any advice or want to know more, just message me or whatever. You're not alone dude.

Thats all,

Happy Clearing.
