In Topic: Are Some Forms Of Acne Possibly Psychosomatic?

23 March 2013 - 07:53 AM

I agree with WishClean.  Also if stress is YOUR CAUSE, then of course it can help.

I think it always helps to be optimistic and have a positive outlook on life.

When I did have acne,

some of the things i used to do were:

When I went to the bathroom, I washed my face in a semi-lit place.  I didn't turn on the lights, but had a nightlight in there... lol

Also, I hung out with friends at night mostly because no lighting really...  =)

Anddd the less I looked at it, the better it made me feel.

I also did things that made me happy such as listen to music, taking my dog for a walk, go swimming, showering, eating, and sleeping(!)

:)

oh and cleaning for some weird reason because i'm really messy.  Keep your mind occupied, and be surrounded by people that don't care.  I chose my dog because animals don't care what you look like as long as you feed them and show them some love.

In Topic: Smoking

23 March 2013 - 07:49 AM

I think it can, but again, it depends on the individual.

Also, are you talking about weed or cigs?

I have friends who smoke weed - some have clear skin (doesn't matter if they are smoking or not), and others have noticed it makes it much worse.  My one friend has moderate acne, and has noticed his skin clears up when smoking weed. lol go figure.

As for cigarettes, I used to smoke, and have friends who smoke cigarettes.  I and the rest have noticed better skin when quitting cigarettes.

So in summary, for weed, I have seen more variation.  For cigarettes, it's a definate no for all of my friends and I.

:)

Plus.. cigarettes I think are just more toxic than weed.  And no I am not a pothead... I do not smoke weed.

In Topic: Quakers Oatmeal?

23 March 2013 - 06:29 AM

The ingredients are shockingly not that bad... lol wow.

But, still, instant oatmeal is still "refined/processed."   Sure it might not be bad, but it's also not so great.

You can get a big bag of oats for cheap too - with all the good stuff in it.

Plussssssss......... when you use real oats, you don't use the microwave.  Your food is more "alive". lol

I guess you could keep eating instant oatmeal, but if you start developing problems, I would take a closer look at it because again, it is not a "natural" food.

In Topic: Acne Has Vanished And I'm Happy Thanks To Green Tea!

23 March 2013 - 06:26 AM

Congrats! :)

Even though I'm clear, I always like to try things to help my body stay in tip top shape.

I have tried many different green tea products before, but it made me sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oily.

Never knew why.  And I bought things like matcha green tea...VERY unprocessed....      Maybe I will try it again now that my diet is good.  I will try it to see if I still get the same oily skin reaction.

=)

In Topic: Can Leaving Cleanser On Skin For Too Long Cause Sagging/aging?

23 March 2013 - 06:04 AM

Hmm...

Cetaphil is supposed to be a very gentle cleanser, but it's also not really natural..

But either way, I don't think it's a good idea to wash your face for very long.  It can be more irritating than anything.....

Just a quick rinse should be good.
