Topics I've Started

2 Months On Regimen And No Improvement

04 May 2013 - 11:07 PM

I've been on the regimen for about two months or longer and have seen little to no improvement at all, for about a week at one point i was clear and right now its the worst its ever been. I am not 100% sure but from research im guessing i suffer from hormonal acne as I am a guy and my face is COMPLETELY clear but my jawline/chest/back are absolutely disgusting (worst being jawline). I have been experimenting with other things on the regimen on the way through which is probably frowned upon i suppose but my current regimen is:

AM

Gamophen triclosan medicated soap (only for back chest shoulders, too harsh for face and cant afford to use BP on those areas)

Cetaphil cleanser

Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% gel

Cetaphil moisturizer

PM

Gamophen (read above)

Cetaphil cleanser

BP 2.5%

Cetaphil Moisturizer

100mg of Blackmore's zinc supplement

3000mg of Blackmores evening primrose oil supplement

I have also been experimenting with using Apple Cider Vinegar as a spot treatment only. I have also heard Fish oil supplements reduce inflammation better than evening primrose, if this is true i would prefer to be on that but dont want to be on both, im not sure if i should switch?

just looking for answers as it really doesnt seem to be working and ive had bad acne for 5 years now and im 18 and have seen many derms and cant get rid of it, the only thing i havent been on is accutane but i really dont want to.

Vitamins For Acne Prevention

11 April 2013 - 04:37 AM

I have started taking a few different vitamins in hope to help my mild/moderate acne to completely clear off. I am doing the regimen but am not sure how much of these vitamins i should be taking for it to be enough to work.

I have:

Vitamin D3 1000IU tablets

Vitamin A 5000IU capsules

Zinc tablets 125mg

not 100% sure with the zincs as im confused but this is what the back of the jar says and im quoting directly "Contains: Zinc amino acid chelate (Zinc 25mg) 125mg" so im guessing the pills are zinc 125 but wasnt sure if they are just 25mg?

how much of each should i be having daily to make any improvements!

I Need To Get Rid Of This Front/chest Acne Asap!

21 March 2013 - 12:36 AM

I have always controlled my acne by just using BP cream whenever i break out and it has usually controlled it pretty well, however recently my face, back, shoulders, and chest have broken out terribly (compared to usual).

I have been using the regimen from this site with different products and it has been working pretty well as far as i can see on my face, shoulders, and back, but for some reason my chest looks so inflamed and red and i am a person who loves going to the beach multiple times a week and am too embarrassed to even take my shirt off in front of my girlfriend now!

This is the regimen ive been using morning and night (taking only one of each pill/day)

- Neutrogena Extra Gentle Cleanser

- Benzac AC 2.5% BP gel

- Natures Organics sorbolene gentle moisturizer with vitamin E and aloe

- Blackmores BIO ZINC, Zinc amino acid chelate (zinc 25mg) x1 per day

- Cenovis Vitamin d3 1000IU x1 per day

For my shoulders, forehead, back, and chest i have only been applying the BP gel and not cleansing or moisturizing those areas. I am not sure if this is why my chest doesnt seem to be healing or getting any better. I was also not sure if i should be taking more of the zinc pills?

I know my chest doesnt seem to actually have ACNE but the bumps are extremely red which might not be as detailed in the image and it is embarassing, i possibly need something in my regimen to reduce redness or an increased amount of something im already using? thanks!
