Post Accutane Products/experimenting

11 August 2013 - 12:14 AM

I am currently in accutane, almost a month in. Since I have read about so many people having to do a second or third course it got me thinking. Has anyone tried do the regimen after? Like Dan Kern, he still does the regimen even though he is clear. If anyone has had success with one course, what kind of products do you use, and has it helped keep you clear?

25/f Started Accutane Today!

20 July 2013 - 07:33 PM

My accutane journey started today! I am 25, female with moderate acne. I've had acne since I was about 13, light acne, normal teenager acne. As I got older it slowly got worse. Then in January it just exploded and I got acne that I never had before. Huge painful cysts and nodules all along my jawline. It looked like I had a beard of acne. 3 months later I broke down and went to the dermatologist. She mentioned accutane right away, but I put it off and decided to think about it. She put me on minocycline and I was on that for 2 months.

I then decided on accutane, and just started today! The minocycline definetely helped, I no longer got cysts anymore, but I was still getting tiny little bumps all over. So I am very anxious and curious as to how I will react to accutane!

$200 For Blood Tests That Don't Even Count

05 July 2013 - 11:25 PM

I had made a post about how a medical assistant screwed me over earlier. I was supposed to be on accutane starting on June 18, but when I went for my appointment I found out that the assistant never put me into the ipledge program. So not only do I have to wait another month, i have to get tests redone. My dermatologist told me the first one I took didn't really count, that I should get a new test done. I just got the bill from the first tests, and it's $200. My question is, can the dermatologists office do anything about this? This woman screwed everything up, and now I have to pay $200 for tests that don't even count? Oh yeah and not to mention I don't have a job so I'm screwed!

Can You Take Supplements With Accutane?

23 June 2013 - 06:51 PM

I thought I'd ask this question here. Can you take supplements while on accutane? I know you can't take vitamin a, but I was wondering about evening primrose oil? I was taking that for pms symptoms like cramps, and heavy periods and it worked wonders. I can ask my derm but I thought I'd ask here first.
