#3337411 Cutting Back On Bp?

Posted by MichelleKL77 on 30 March 2013 - 08:17 PM

So glad you've had such great results with the regimen, I have been on the regimen for about 4 1/2 months now, and I have been cutting back on bp, I use about half the amount at night and 1/4 of it during the day(basically just spot treat) give it a try, if you start to break out just go back to using the full amount again. Good luck!

#3332606 Encouragement Needed!

I had the exact same thing, I would put a large amount of moisturizer on morning and night, you don't want to keep putting it on throughout the day because the whole point of the regimen is to be gentle to your skin and try not to touch it and irritate it. The drying WILL subside, it started to subside for me in the 5th and 6th week, in the 6th week I started using dans AHA+, this stuff is amazing for the dryness and the flakiness because it is very hydrating, you could try using this, it hydrates and exfoliates which is amazing. I'm on my third month of the regimen now, i'm very lucky i've had great results, my skin is so soft and healthy looking, I still get the odd pimple once in a while but the rest of the time, i'm acne free! I know how frustrating it can be, to have acne, and now the dryness, but patience is a virtue, so be patient and keep going with it.

Don't give up, I was experiencing horrible breakouts until about the 6th week, thats when I started to see a major difference in my acne, everything was healing, I'm on my third month now and my skin is clear 90% of the time.

#3317253 6Th Week... So Far So Good!

Posted by MichelleKL77 on 09 January 2013 - 11:13 PM

Hi Acne.org community,
I am at my 6th week on the regimen, it has been an extremely rough journey for me, I had two horrible breakouts where my skin was purging from the treatment cream in the 2-3rd week and the 5th week. Everything turned around in the 6th week, my skin is so much clearer then it was, right now I have about 3-5 pimples on my face, all very small and should be gone in a couple of days, the dryness redness and everything is also getting so much better. I added the aha+ just on the 3rd of jan and I think that is one of the reasons my skin is doing so well. I recommend everyone to use the aha+ but make sure to wait until after a month of the regimen or 6 weeks like I did. Also... my scarring has faded dramatically since starting the AHA+, I mix it with my moisturizer and its working wonders! I hope this helps anyone feeling like they want to give up on the regimen, I've been there in my 2nd, 3rd and 5th week, but it gets better!

#3316241 Just When I Thought I Was Ready To Quit.. The Regimen Pulled Me Back In

Posted by MichelleKL77 on 06 January 2013 - 12:38 PM

Just a few days ago I wrote that I was seriously considering quitting the regimen, this is how it has been since I've started, I'm almost at my 6th week on it.
1st week: dry skin, not much improvement in acne, redness from the bp
2nd week: horrible breakout, about 15-20 large cysts on my face
3: the same as 2
4: started to see improvement maybe only 4-5 pimples on my face, lots of scarring though
5th: another horrible breakout, this time worse then the one in the second week, about 22-25 large cysts on my face that hurt not to mention my skin was pretty red from the bp
almost 6th week: skin is improving again, about 6-7 pimples on my face right now but they are smaller and easier to cover, I use almay concealer and thats it- less is more.

I started to see improvement again a couple days ago, also on friday my AHA+ came in the mail, I had actually forgotten that I even ordered it so I was excited when I opened my mailbox, I used it friday night and last night and so far so good, it really shrinks current pimples and helps with any flakiness you have from the bp.

I am so excited to be so close to the 2 month mark(only a couple more weeks!!!!), hopefully it gets even better from here, for those of you wanting to give up and quit the regimen don't, I felt this way just a few days ago and now my skin is back on track and looking better then before, keep going and hopefully you will get the same result.

#3312891 Starting To See Improvement!

Posted by MichelleKL77 on 23 December 2012 - 02:52 PM

Hi Everyone,
So this is my 4th week on the regimen and I am finally starting to see improvement in my acne. Products I am using are Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser, Daniel Kern 2.5 BP Treatment, and Cetaphil Restoraderm moisture lotion, and jojoba oil at night with the moisturizer. For the first three weeks I was using complex 15 as my moisturizer but it just wasn't enough for my skin so I bought the cetaphil one and the dryness, flakiness, and redness has gone down so much I highly recommend that product.

I'm just going to explain how my skin reacted to the regimen in the first 3 weeks and then tell you what happened in the 4th week.
So the first week: skin was dry and flaking but acne seemed to be drying up a little
2nd week: WORST breakout ever, i'm talking huge cyst, wouldn't even leave the house breakout. My skin was so dry that when I tired to apply makeup it would just flake off, so I literally didn't leave the house, I'd say I had about 15-20 pimples on my face, and they were not small at all, they were huge.
3rd week: Still very badly broken out, wanted to stop the regimen because I was so discouraged, noticing that acne is healing more quickly though so I kept going
4th week: replaced complex 15 moist with cetaphil moisturizer. I immediately noticed the dryness and flakiness go down and acne is seriously starting to improve, I have scarring but I do scar easily, but right now I only have about 4-6 pimples, they are healing quickly and are not as large as usual.

I'm going to continue with the regimen because I feel it is working for me, I will say that I eat pretty healthy but in the past changing my diet never changed my skin, one thing I started doing that I think is helping is drinking green tea, I drink about 2-3 cups a day of green tea, I put honey in it to sweeten it, and I do take supplements as well, but I have been taking supplements for two years and I would still get very bad breakouts, so the main thing battling my acne is the regimen.

The supplements I take:
Omega 3
Probiotic- refrigerated
B Complex
