dude.  just eat more of everything.  the answer is honestly that simple, idk what you want to hear... rice, chicken, protein shakes all day (look into protein sludge.... soooo good, i dont drink shakes anymore).  weight gainers are laughably terrible.  and walnuts aren't anti inflammatory...

if you're having trouble sleeping and your eye is twitching then i'd definitely step it down on the caffeine.  i've been trying my best to get as close to possible as sugar free and therefore have been having a lot of diet soda.  the one day i guess i had more than usual, because everything else was normal, but i broke out in all these little spots on my forhead.  i attribute it to the caffeine that day.  not binging on diet coke anymore after that...

the non-scientific answer from me is that it's ridiculous.  water fast, apple fast, whatever other stupid things are out there... idk who comes up with them.  your body is an engine and it needs energy.  i think you're looking for a quick fix or shortcut, and there just aren't any.  you have to examine your diet, figure out your triggers, and avoid them.  i'm sure alternativista will have a legit answer for you. 


you may improve over those three days because you are inadvertently avoiding your dietary triggers, but then when you binge on the fourth day it'll be back to business as usual - you won't be healed.  i do IF because i am cutting weight and it makes it easier for me.  i can't comment on it's effects on acne for me, although i've read that it has benefits.

I've been reading about fasting and I'm definitely going to do it, both for my skin and for overall health benefits. I'm wondering if it's better to do a straight water fast where I consume nothing but water for a few days, or if I should do intermittent fasting where I eat all my food within an 8 hour window and then fast for 16 hours.


And on the topic of intermittent fasting, how long should it be kept up? Thanks

Wow 3.54k to 4k calories a day? How?!?


Please post exactly what you eat on a given day?'


did you ever take oral antibiotics for your acne?


bunch of gluten free rice chex + whole milk (only time i drink milk currently)

3 protein shakes a day (1 scoop each with water) 

2 meals of 1/2-3/4 lb beef or chicken + rice (now brown) or gluten free pasta + sauce/etc. to get to >1k cals per meal

big sweet potato (just microwaved with a little cinnamon and brown sugar butter + cinnamon)

macadamia nuts ('low' in omega 6, used to eat tons of peanuts which are way high in o6) during the day between classes


I was on antibiotics (minocycline and tetracycline) for about a year i think.  currently on my second bottle of probiotics which have really helped get my digestion back to normal, but idk if my acne was affected.  



Everyone is different.


Just because someone is eating 3k plus cals a day doesn't mean you can. Everyones metabolic capacity is different.


Ask this guy to write exactly what they eat isn't going to help you. Diet is individual, Its what works for you.


Just make better choices in your food and go from there.



This x10.  some people find the most random things that cause their acne, just have to keep experimenting.
