I'd Forget I Have Acne If....

28 December 2012 - 11:43 PM

It didn't physically hurt so bad.

The days it doesn't hurt I typically think of it so much less....but on the days of crazy inflamed zits I am so obsessive about finding my cure.  Unfortunately, it hurts more days than not :(

Who's Using The Ocm

25 December 2012 - 07:57 PM

I just started using the oil cleansing method about a week and a half ago and so far I am loving it. I only use it at night and my skin has felt so hydrated and the texture seems to be improving slightly. In the morning I feel less inflamed as well.  During the day I tend to get oily normally but since starting this I have felt far less oily . Maybe it's coincidence but I hope I can continue to see results from this.

So if you use OCM, what is your mix? I am only using extra virgin olive oil and just tonight added a couple drops of tea tree oil. I have read of so many different mixes and haven't felt too adventurous yet to try anything else.  I'd like to hear what works well for others and what improvements you've seen since starting this treatment.

Is This Normal?

19 December 2012 - 01:16 PM

So just a little background...I have been using AcneFree Severe by University Medical for years now.  It has 10% bp...and my skin has had no real irritations for a long time from it.  Well I think they stopped making it until the new year and I haven't been able to find it anywhere so I decided to give Dan's products a try...well I washed my face a little while ago and used the bp and now my face is burning like crazy.  I don't understand if I had been using 10% prior and now down to 2.5% why there would be irritation.  I used my own regular moisturizer but my skin hasn't calmed down at all. Any ideas what's going on?

Instead Of Lurking...i Thought I'd Join

Hi! I've been lurking on these forums for like 3 months and finally decided to be brave enough to join.

A little about me....I got my first zit at age 7 but really started to break out by the time I was in high school. I am 30 years old and have resolved to fix (or at least greatly minimize) this problem. I suffer from moderate/severe (more on moderate side but it changes daily) acne with lots of hyperpigmentation. I've tried quite a few things but am currently exploring nutrition as an aid.

Things I've found that have helped some so far are using the Olay x spin brush twice a day when I wash my face, using bareMinerals blemish therapy on zits as they form, and taking a supplement for skin.  Those have helped with my cystic acne and have cleared me up about 25%. I rarely get cystic acne anymore which is a huge improvement as I used to have at least 75% of the time.

Other than that I'm in the middle of a diet transition (currently dairy-free vegetarian going to little to no processed foods and lower sugar intake). Hopefully I'll have positive results!
