#3343978 Skin Oily Again?

Posted by Aballarina on 28 April 2013 - 06:57 PM

Totally normal!  I go thru phases and some days I'm like uhhhh whats going on? But its just how it works. If it bothers you don't moisturize that area for a day and itll go dry again.

#3321704 Acne Or Dermatitis?

Posted by Aballarina on 25 January 2013 - 08:47 PM

I had the same thing and it was diagnosed as pd. I used organic apple cider. Metro gel, and monocycline (antibiotic). Took roughly 1 month to clear. I know what you mean about the redness...just whatever you do don't use steroid creams (I did and after I read that's the absolute worst thing you can do as it appears to get better but really all your doing is feeding it and it comes back worse)

#3311649 Looking For Diagnosis - Pictures

Posted by Aballarina on 18 December 2012 - 01:33 AM

Perioral dermatitis? A rash that can develop mainly around the mouth and nose. Red or white heads sometimes itchy or burning feeling. Can start because of an allergen or something your skin doesn't tolerate any longer. Mine was acne meds it came out of nowhere. I used these creams for years. Plus I know a few people that's are related to things they put inside their bodies.
Maybe bring that up to your derm? Often times docs misdiagnose this for acne. And it's treated entirely different.
Metro gel & antibiotics and I used organic apple cidar vinegar.
Could also be demodex mites. I read about it and they cause rashes, acne, bumps etc.
or yeast over growth? I'd say its one of those but I'm no doctor just basing it on my own personal experiences

#3309446 Accutane Is Poison

Posted by Aballarina on 09 December 2012 - 02:50 AM

Wow intense lol. Personally, I feel every drug has risks. Accutane may be a more serious drug, but I trust my derm and my gp actually told me its not TOO bad. Yeah there are risks, but I heard people who had issues with bcp or antibiotics.
As long as people are properly informed I think it's s personal decision.  If you've tried other stuff and they don't work it may be a last resort.
We all have different experiences and at least here we can hear the good and the bad for most pills or products. In glad I read some negative comments so I can better be on the look out for any nasty side effects :)
We all want the same thing --clear skin. How we'll get it, is sadly always different

#3306806 I'm going to stop wearing makeup

Posted by Aballarina on 29 November 2012 - 05:24 PM

I have also gone makeup free about a month now! Before I was using mineral makeup as well just to smooth it over. Then I got this horrible dermatitis all over my
Face and the more makeup I'd wear made it look worse.
So I cut the make up out and the first few days where tough wth co workers asking me all these questions. But now my dermatis is gone I just have some light scarring, and no more makeup.

#3304702 I'm Sooo Depressed Because Of My Acne!

Posted by Aballarina on 22 November 2012 - 06:01 PM

Your beautiful!!! :) I can totally understand where you are coming from. When I got perioral dermatitis on top of my moderate acne there wasn't a cm without ugly bumps on it!! I work in a restaurant and I had customers literally ask me what was on my face and why am I not washing it for work. People are so ignorant. But this is just a phase and you will be beautifully clear!!!! Good luck to you and everyone else!! We will all be clear from this journey and one day look back at what we went thru and realize how much better we have become as people :)

#3304400 Don't Proactive Commercials Just Piss You Off

Posted by Aballarina on 21 November 2012 - 08:04 PM

Just thought I'd put my two cents in.. Pro actives "sulfur mask" gave me perioral dermatitis.. When I went back to the counter I bought it, the lady just said "oh you must use it wrong" when really there is only one way to use it. Proactive is for people with the odd pimple, but then again those people can use any kind of "acne" cream and it will do wonders for them. If you watch the cermercials and they show the "before" pic, you see it's like two or three bumps. My doctor told me never to use it again as all it does is irritate the crap out of your already irritated skin!

#3303605 Just Feel Worthless. Help? ;( (Long Post, Readers And Responders Will Be G...

Posted by Aballarina on 19 November 2012 - 12:30 AM

I can relate as well. Id say I had moderate acne thru highs cool which i know is not as bad as some. I had such oily skin I couldn't go 2 hours without looking super shiny! All my friends and boyfriend had clear, nice skin. It sucked, my friends would always give me "advice" even tho they didn't understand. And recently I got a pretty bad case of perioral dermatitis that lasted about 3 months that no matter how much I covered up it was so visible. I'm 22 and I work in a restaurant, and I have had soo many customers ask me what's wrong with my face, had a few employees laugh about it, etc. people are deffinetely so cruel. Just think one day you will have clear, beautiful skin. And to be honest.. Us that suffer with acne know how to care for our skin way better then the rest, so we don't fake tan or do much else to age our skins. And we are much more sincere people inside. I wish you the best of luck and I'm sure you will be clear :) I think unless you are born with something that you will be clear again :)
