No, there really isn't. I caved and went on Keflex (Category B) antibiotic for several 4 week stints. That was the only thing that helped. Topicals did nothing. My daughter is 2 and 100% healthy.

Actually I have suspected it was the HCG causing the worst acne, as around 10 weeks I stopped getting the cystic type. I think what you can/should take post-partum depends on whether you are breastfeeding. And after breastfeeding ends your skin may return to normal. If not Spiro is a good solution (what cleared me).

I don't understand how you could ever go off anti-androgen therapy. That implies that the medication makes permanent changes in your hormone levels/receptors, and I have never read that.

My skin was 100% clear and not oily during the third trimester. It was pretty amazing. When it came back two weeks after I gave birth it was about pre-pregnancy levels. It was not as bad as it was during pregnancy, that's for sure. During the first trimester I have the painful cyst type and now have scarring because of it. Hence I am not having another child, which I am really sad about:-( I'm on Spiro now and have been clear for over a year. I can't imagine having to go off and go through that nightmare again.
