1.5mm? Thats small. I was thinking cms at the least. But I guess the smaller the better. Did he make the incisions three times the size of the original scar? I think they do that

I had some scars excised today, I went to my plastic surgeon for a different reason and he said he might as well excise some scars. Previously other doctors tld me the scars werent deep enough for excision and that TCA cross or laser would be better so i dont know how the outcome will be.  I had 5 or 6 scars cutout with a scalpel will have the sutures removed in 5 days.

I will post more pics including "befores" when i heal.

Sweet! Thanks for posting. May I ask what kind of scars were they, and how many millimeters were they? Did your surgeon tell you whether he did a double layered closure? Did he explain anything? Just curious. Thanks (:

In Topic: Has Anyone Heard Of Spread Scars?

Yeah, never heard of it and I doubt it's even a proper term for anything. People make up all sorts of names for things for no reason. "Spread scar" sounds like a scaremongering name.

F&P we're not still talking about the same forehead scar as before are we? :( Have you seen that derm yet?

I posted the question to realself a while a go, and just the other day I'd gotten a reply.

I haven't seen a derm yet. My doctor is more concerned with my mental health, though she said next time I come see her she can give me a referal to a derm if it'd make me feel better.

I've stopped using the hydrocolloid bandages 24/7 now, although I still keep them on during the nights. I had the bandages on for about a week. I can definitely recommend them. The scar stays nicely moisturized when I wear one, it's protected and I don't have to look at it and get depressed. Win-win. I'm also considering wearing them on pimples, in case it would prevent scabbing (and the risk of scarring).

During the days I put some zinc oxide cream around the scar to help with the redness, and Terproline Professional in the actual hole. Those alone hide the redness and the indent to the point that I don't mind going out in public, heh. The scar may look a bit shallower than to begin with, but it's hard to say. It will take months before I can really judge what it will look like, although I can tell that it's deeper and more severe than any other scar I've got for a long, long while, so it may not improve much. At this moment, I still would like to get it excised once it's healed.

I'm sure it'll get better. But if you do decide to have it excised, please do post about the experience. ^_^

Proper hypopigmented scar tissue probably doesn't, but most indented scars aren't like that.

Can you explain that further. Sorry, confused. So, neither have pores? .-.
