In Topic: Is The Regimen Really Worth It?

Hi Ange,

I had mild acne but it was still a big deal for me. I started the regimen last summer and I love it. It took about two months for me to be completely clear. Basically when i started using aha, my skin became perfect. I haven't broken out since and have no more discoloration/scars. I love not having to use concealer! You do have to do the regimen exactly as it says though (I also had to learn to sleep on my back because your pillowcase isn't good for your skin hah.)

I would try the Regimen. It's working well for me and as a 24 y.o. guy the worst thing (in my opinion) would be for accutane not to work and then your hair to fall out. Your skin will heal until you find the right meds but that hair won't grow back.

Hi BillJobs,

I'm also a 24 y.o. male and had acne in the same place you did. I also tried saw palmetto.

I always slept on my side too but finally I adjusted to my back (after about 2 full weeks of trying). I also wash my pillowcase every other day. This has eliminated the acne from my cheeks and jawline so I actually do think that was the issue. I still have the occasional pimple around the mouth area but I suspect that's from something hormonal. I tried saw palmetto for this and actually saw an improvement on 320 mg a day. This made my libido take a huge hit though and my significant other was not thrilled about this so I stopped. I was literally never in the mood...) Hope this helped and good luck!

Anyone here that has facial scarring barely eat a lot of calories (i.e. 1.3k calories or less)?

Hi,

I have had this issue in the past. I've definitely noticed that when I cut my calories to a very low level for last second dieting (i.e. Beach Trip or Halloween haha) If i happen to get a pimple, that scar is much larger/darker. Totally makes sense that the body is having a harder time healing itself.

Hey there,

Any kind of foundation you use will be noticeable during the day which obviously is not what we want as guys. I suggest covering up the spots with concealer and letting it dry. Then follow (using a very light touch) with a tinted moisturizer. Dr. Dennis Gross has a great one that no one has ever noticed, even in direct sunlight if you apply it correctly. So i cover up and then even it out. Looks really natural.

Good Luck!
