Derma Needling/stamping Diary

20 December 2012 - 08:25 PM

Hello everyone, I purchased the 1 mm Derma stamp from owndoc.com about 2 weeks ago and I got it today. The 1 mm derma stamp was supposed to be mainly for macules/PIH and shallow scars which I mostly have. I tried the derma stamp on a test spot on the side of my cheeks with a couple of very tiny and shallow pock marks. I am planning on stamping the rest of my cheeks in due time but for now, I just tried the stamp on a test spot to see how my skin reacts or if it does at all.

I took a shower, cleansed my face with just warm water and spectro gel, rinsed with cool water and dried with a towel. I sterilized the derma stamp using hot water even though it was already sterilized just to be sure. I stamped the area 8 times at first, it bled and I heard the "popping/ripping sounds" people on here were talking about. Those sounds are just natural as the needle on the stamp rips/destroys the scar tissues on the scar. I ended up stamping 2 more times for good measure. After stamping the area 10 times, I carefully rinsed off the blood (minimal) with cold water. The area was pink/reddish/swollen for about 5-10 mins but slowly went back to the original color. There was no scabs yet I suppose. I did not put any topicals on the stamped area. I just rubbed a little bit of polysporine/neosporine on the area to help with the healing. Right now, as I write this entry, the stamped area is slightly burning and I can feel a little bit of tingling on where I stamped. Who knows what it could be?

I will report if I see any improvements but so far I think it was somewhat successful since I heard the popping sounds which I confess was music to my ears. I will also add an entry on here if/when I stamp my other scars. For now, I worked on my less prominent scars to see how they react. I am a 19 year old asian male by the way and my pain tolerance is quite high. The stamping process hurt by a bit but nothing major.

Right now, I am planning on doing nothing on the area until after 3 days when I will start putting a tiny layer of differin gel on it. I am also taking vitamin a, c and e just for overall skin health. I did not type out the entire details of my regimen on here but I would gladly do so upon anyone's request. If anyone has any questions on the overall stamping, my regimen, treatments etc, feel free to ask and I would be more than happy to help. I will check this post once every day after work. Thank you for reading and have a good one guys!

Help! What Size Derma Stamp Should I Purchase?

06 December 2012 - 09:58 PM

Hello everyone! I have very minor acne scarring, mostly tiny indented pock marks and 2 boxcar/icepick scars (fairly shallow and small). I have decided to try derma stamping for treatment but I need some help from you all! Acne scars are taking a toll on my confidence, social life etc and I just want to live a normal life again. I have a few questions to ask you?

1. My pock marks are isolated, not clustered for the most part, what size of the derma stamp should I buy?

2. I am under topicals, clindamycin solution with dilusol, differin gel 0.1%, is it safe to continue those while derma stamping?

3. Is it safe to derma stamp scarred pores as well? I have a lot of those on my T-Zone.

4. How many times do I stamp each area?

Thanks everyone! And please reply! A couple replies will go a long way!

Need Suggestions With Shallow Acne Scars

06 December 2012 - 04:11 PM

Hello everyone, I have been suffering from acne since I was about 17. I am now 19 and I am 99% cleared from acne with daily use of spectro gel, clindamycin solution with dilusol and differin gel 0.1%. Although my scars have improved quite a bit since I got them 2 years ago, I am still not satisfied. I would need some suggestions on what treatments I could possibly do. My scars are fairly shallow. Some of them are clustered in one spot but for the most part they are isolated. I am thinking of purchasing derma stamp but I am not sure what size I should get? Can someone please give me some suggestions? Thanks!

Treatment For Shallow Individual Ice Pick Scar And Boxcar Scar. Help Please...

05 October 2012 - 10:03 AM

Hello everyone, I am a 19 year old male and have been on differin gel (0.1%) for 2+ months now and I would say I am 99% acne free. I still get those occasional tiny surface zits here and there but it is no problem to me. I have never gotten a cyst in 2+ months and I am very happy with that. But I do have several macules and a few indented scars from past acne. Most macules have faded quite a bit and isn't a problem but the indented scars bothers me. I do feel they have lost some discoloration and a few are unnoticeable but I have three deeper (but not too deep) on my t-zone and I am just wondering what is the best treatment for individual scars like this? One scar is oval shaped, about a pinky fingernail long and two are tiny but has sharp edges and are indented. What treatments should I go for here? I do not think I need any abrasive treatments like laser. Do you think I should opt for TCA Cross, punch excision or not do anything at all? Are there any topicals out there that could help? Thanks and please reply!

Differin Gel (0.1%) To Fade Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (Pih)

12 August 2012 - 02:30 PM

I am currently on Differin gel to help clear clogged pores, tiny zits, inflammations etc. but I still do have moderate acne scarring from past acne. I have a question does differin gel help fade PIH or would I need to exfoliate myself? Can someone please help me...
