#3313289 Derma Needling/stamping Diary

Posted by TO1993 on 25 December 2012 - 09:27 PM

Does the stamp hit healthy skin as well as scarred skin? I'd like to try stamping but I want to avoid causing any sort of damage to my unscarred skin if I can help it.

I used a 1 mm derma stamp. I stamped a whole area of my skin with just a couple of very shallow scars and mostly healthy skin. It was swollen at first with a lot of needle marks but it's been 5 days now and the area went back to normal with I'd say a 10% improvement on the scars. This very shallow pock mark is barely visible anymore. I will continue to stamp the same area and move on to the next.

UPDATE: It's been 5 days now since I stamped. The area was swollen/red at first. The needles left nicks on the healthy skin I stamped but now they are gone and the redness is gone as well. I would say the scars have improved by about 10%. The area I stamped had 4 VERY VERY shallow scars/pock marks. 1 is barely visible, 2 stayed the same (for now) and one went from a shallow ice pick to more of a linear scar. I will continue to stamp the same area. The next one in about a week or so. I will continue to update this blog. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

#3292461 Treatment For Shallow Individual Ice Pick Scar And Boxcar Scar. Help Please...

Posted by TO1993 on 05 October 2012 - 10:03 AM

Hello everyone, I am a 19 year old male and have been on differin gel (0.1%) for 2+ months now and I would say I am 99% acne free. I still get those occasional tiny surface zits here and there but it is no problem to me. I have never gotten a cyst in 2+ months and I am very happy with that. But I do have several macules and a few indented scars from past acne. Most macules have faded quite a bit and isn't a problem but the indented scars bothers me. I do feel they have lost some discoloration and a few are unnoticeable but I have three deeper (but not too deep) on my t-zone and I am just wondering what is the best treatment for individual scars like this? One scar is oval shaped, about a pinky fingernail long and two are tiny but has sharp edges and are indented. What treatments should I go for here? I do not think I need any abrasive treatments like laser. Do you think I should opt for TCA Cross, punch excision or not do anything at all? Are there any topicals out there that could help? Thanks and please reply!

Your face will get better bud trust me. You have moderate acne. You are lucky yours do not cause pitted scarring which means the marks left by your acne will eventually go away. You should avoid greasy food, milk, too much sugar and make sure you wash your face twice daily. First thing, you might want to invest in a mild cleanser (Cetaphil, spectro jel, ceravae). Next, stick with Doxy. It may seem that your acne is getting worse but it is actually because the doxy is bringing all of the dirt to the surface. In a few weeks or so, you will start seeing results. Acne takes time. After your acne clears, you will have to use a toner with salicylic acid to keep you clear and help fade your marks. Good luck.
