Can You Breakout Going From 2.5% Bp To 10%?

27 August 2013 - 05:56 PM

My face had been pretty bad lately so I had migrated to using 2.5% and 10% benzoyl peroxide. I use proactive steps 1-3. For those that don't know, step 3 is a 2.5% BP solution with some other things thrown in. I'll usually use step 3 and then apply my 10% BP. I've still been breaking out way more than usual lately. I switched to 10% BP after I had tried a new (terrible) face wash in an attempt to clear up again. My acne has been worse than usual this summer so I hoped the new wash would help. Instead it made my face purge itself terribly and I'm scared from it right now. I switched back to Proactive about 3 or so weeks ago (I used the other stuff for 2 weeks) and ever since my acne has been even worse than it was before I switched my wash. When I went back, I started incorporating the 10%. My face is not dry and I use a good moisturizer so dryness isn't a problem. I was wondering if maybe the 10% is just irritating my face and causing me to break out? Or if I should just give it some more time for my skin to adjust? (I would say I've only been really using 10% on my face for about a week so I could see why more time may be needed). Is my skin tightening its pours in a response to the 10% and in effect is pushing out some pimples?

Moisturizer Help?

28 June 2013 - 11:54 PM

I had been using Cetaphil moisturizer for Atopic skin but when it ran out I began using the regular Cetaphil daily moisturizer. I'm generally positive that it has been responsible for my MASSIVE breakouts lately (my face is being ravaged here) because my face constantly looked like an oil slick and probably couldn't breathe. Anyways I've been using the proactive green tea moisturizer for the past few days and after I put it on my face seems to get very warm and sting and afterwards my face seems very tight and dry (meaning after using the green tea moisturizer). Am I just doing something wrong? Would anyone recommend a moisturizer?

Post B5 Acne Terror?

20 June 2013 - 08:08 PM

Has anyone who has done B5 and then come off it experienced a return of acne, and with a vengeance  My acne is back and is WAY worse than ever and is no doubt due to this vitamin. Did anyone else take this and have the same effect? How long until it leveled back out?

Vitamin B5 Conundrum (Please Help)

26 April 2013 - 11:54 PM

Please help me for I am at my wits end here

I started the b5 regimen during January. Over the corse of a few months (two) I ramped my way up to taking 5g a day of vitamin B5. Last week I began to notice an increased amount of hair falling out during the shower; minimal and nothing an onlooker would deem unhealthy, but my body doesn't usually shed hair so I was worried and began cutting my dosage on B5 I cut my dosage to 2g a day and now I've got a cyst coming up on my cleared face and I don't know what to do. I started taking my 5g again but I am really at a total loss. Somebody please help me

How To Get Rid Of This Small Zit?

24 February 2013 - 08:38 PM

How do you get rid of a small zit? Usually I would just pop a zit after its resisted treatment but this zit is just so small it's not worth popping and making a mess. I've already tried copious amounts of Benzoyl Peroxide (2.5%) as well as neosporin and proactive refining mask. Any suggestions on what I can do? I just really don't want to pop it because it's honestly just so small.
