Update Day 27

So it has been nearly one month starting Accutane! I am going to keep it short and sweet...I am breaking out ever couple days and currently have one active. My skin is no longer dry and my lips are no longer dry thanks to aquaphor lip repair balm (thanks CWR24!). I got my blood drawn again today to prepare for next months accutane prescription. I am totally ready to continue this journey!

:D

Goodluck!

This is my 4th day on accutane and still haven't noticed anything- no IB or side affects yet

Oh YAY! I am so glad that you are on Accutane too! We can help each other through this. I would just be prepared for the side affects. They are not kind to the skin!

I will be posting a picture very soon!

It is much cheaper. I bottle of that acne supplement was around 40$ and would only last be 16 days! lol so yeah going out and buying them individually in bulk proved to be the way to go. I posted some links to people from acne.org who were using some of the supplement where I began this regimen. But if I could guess I could think it is B5, l-cysteine, and Niacin + Vitamin C. One of the links I posted included a gentleman who had pretty bad acne and got clear with those supplements, and I honestly think is it them. But you are right it is too hard to tell exactly.

I am glad BP is keeping you relatively clear. If I would recommend you any I would recommend for sure B5 (pantothetic acid), Vitamin C, Niacin, and L-cysteine based on my progress and the story of one guy on acne.org. I have been using lemon juice as a toner every night and every evening and my brown spots are fading pretty fast. I would definitely recommend this! It has AHA which exfoliates and removes dead skin and is a natural lightening agent.

I went from using the regimen with 90% success, but now at 100% no breakouts is much better because I am not dealign with new spots to get rid of you know? I hope things work out for you, I am rooting for you!

Sorry Lily and Michelle it wont let me quote you guys by the way!

Day 54 Update

So I am still pimple free! I am still taking the supplements I have listed and I have begun to reduce the amount of BP even further. I hope within another month if I continue the wonderful progress, that I will go to only using one drop of bp per application and from there I plan to reduce to once a day, and finally off it completely.

I have never been this clear ever. My skin is looking fabulous. I hope these supplements keep working their magic. New update in about a week!

My attempt to clear my acne internally:

Okay everyone! After hours upon hours of research to find other ways to cure my acne internally I have come to conclusion that certain vitamins do it best. First I went looking on amazon for acne pills and came across one called Clearzine Acne Solution. It is a supplement and contained wonderful ingredients, however there was a big problem with it because it was really expensive for the amount given and meant I would need to reorder every 10-20 days, which in completely unacceptable on a college student budget, albeit I still splurge on my skin every now and then. So because I was not going to order this so called "acne pill" I decided to examine its label and purchase each of its vitamins and minerals myself. This option is much cheaper in the long run. I opted out of purchasing two of the vitamins, as they did not have much scientific evidence regarding their effectiveness to control and prevent acne.

I purchased the vitamins then continued my search for more acne fighting vitamins. I found many good things on our wonderful site and others as well.

So I just want to give people quick synopsis of my skin. (Check out my gallery to see my pictures from before starting the acne.org regimen). I use the regimen still to this day. It has been about a year and a half since I started. I still breakout our every once and a while, but I manage to stay about 90% clear most of the time.

Okay now to the fun stuff. There are much more link than I have posted below for you all to read up on but these are important ones to me. Here is what I am currently taking:

-Chromium 500mg ~ http://www.acne.org/...c-and-chromium/http://www.acne.org/messageboard/topic/69254-i--    beg-all-of-you-to-try-zinc-chromium/
-Vitamin B5 3000mg ( I take 1500mg in the morning and again in the evening and I plan on dropping this to 1000mg after a couple months) ~ Read this link I beg of you:http://www.acne.org/...after-10-years/. (B6 and L carnitine have been called accutane vitamins!!)
-L-carnitine 500mg ~ This is mentioned in the B5 link. The function is to "boost" vitamin B5 absorption in the body. This means that you do not have to mega-dose B6. Which is good news because severely mega dosing B6 can lead to hair loss.
Vitamin C 1000mg - Antioxidant. Many people with acne have inflammation in their bodies, which antioxidants can help with.
-Selenium 100mg ~ Very powerful Antioxidant
-Niacin 500mg ~ I use the flush version because it is the active version. I have heard of people with success using the non flush version but I wanted to stick to this specific form. helps tremendously with cystic acne. http://www.acne.org/...in-reviews-677/
-Biotin 200-250mg ~ B6 can deplete other B vitamins, especially biotin, so I take this amount is enough to keep levels normal. I have heard of individuals getting acne taking insane doses of biotin so I stick to the amount that my body needs to function.
-Chelated Zinc 60mg ~ Heals skin.  http://www.acne.org/zinc-reviews-200/http://www.acne.org/...-cure-for-acne/
-vitamin D3 ~ sunshine vitamin. Claims to cure acne. Will find links soon.

Search these vitamins yourself to see the benefits and whether or not you are willing to try a combination of these vitamins yourself. I do understand that I am taking a bunch but this is out of desperation lol. So, frankly, I do not care tongue.png

Meanwhile I am still going to use BP for the time being to give these pills a chance to work their magic (hopefully) and then I will come off of BP! Hopefully I stay wonderfully clear! Anyway I hope this post provided you with some interesting reads and let me know if you have any questions. My laptop charger is currently not working and I am waiting for a replacement, so I have to use the family computer. This means it may take me a little longer to respond than I would like, but bare with me smile.png Also sorry for grammar I do not have much time writing this!

I will update my pill progress periodically and whenever someone requests me.

Love you all ~ thereisalwayshope

Thank you CRW24.

I know people get paid to write reviews so that is why I was not sure myself....But again like you also mentioned, the ingredients are good. So I guess we will see. I think I will wait a bit more and I might just try it. I am trying to be positive lol.

One Year Update:

Wow I cannot believe it has been one year. I have gone through 5-6 bottles of the 16oz BP lol. My skin, though relatively clear, still is not perfect. I am still working towards porcelain skin haha. The spots have still not disappeared. The breakouts have not completely stopped, however I can still smile because I have come a long way and have stayed as positive throughout my skincare journey.

I have been blessed to touch other people's lives. My story has helped people with no hope become strong. I can only hope for this to continue. I truly love acne.org.

Come January 2014 I may go on Accutane. I have a love, hate relationship with BP. I think accutane 'may' be the last regimen to keep me free from acne for life. It is a personal choice, and after much thought I think it will be the best for me. Wish me luck acne.org :D

Anyway much love for all those who read my posts and have taken away something from me :)

I love you all.

Week 51 Update:

It has been really HOT and I have been sweating which has caused my BP to come off my face during the day so I have been developing minor pimples along my jawline! I am going to stay inside as much s possible until the heat stops being so mean to my face lol.

My skin dislikes the heat, and loves the winter.

I have one active not that it thankfully well on its way to disappearing yay :P

Also thank you to all the people than thank me for my story. You are all the reasons I love and continue to stay on this site.

Much love,

#3364345 Time To Start The Regimen

Posted by thereisalwayshope on 06 July 2013 - 04:18 PM

Hi Lily :)

I read what you have posted on my topic and I appreciate your kind words!

I am also super excited for you! This regimen will clear you up! And i definitely hear you…those symptoms of dryness and irritation suck, and they can really cause people to question the regimen and whether it was really for them. The good news is those symptoms will not last forever! You can to get over this small bump in your journey, and once you have reached your goal of clear skin you will be glad you did. I remember in the early weeks of the regimen when I was ready to scratch my face off lol because my face was so dry and irritated…I remember those times very well so I know what it feels like. And yes moisturize moisturize moisturize!!!!

Continue to write about your experience and post pictures of your progress….you will help so many people in your journey be doing so trust me. I have been approached and touched by many acne.org users like you who tell me that I have given them hope to start and hope to continue their way to clear skin :)

The biggest advise I can give you is to stay positive (people that are negative fall apart with this regimen and give up very quickly) , and write to all of that care about your journey. :)

With much love, thereisalwayshope

PS you are very beautiful!

#3352397 Starting The Regimen Day 1 Completed

Posted by thereisalwayshope on 27 May 2013 - 11:09 AM

Hi everyone!

So I just wanted to talk a little about how I am current routine with the regimen. I have changed it around for many reasons, but before I tell you those reasons here it my current regimen routine morning and night:

Cleanse

Moisturize

BP (I do not massage the BP in anymore. I put an even layer on the skin and let it absorb itself :))

Sunscreen SPF 50 ( Daytime )

You can see that I have switched the order in with I apply my BP. Dan says that BP should be put on 15 minutes after cleansing the face, but I found even after begin on the regimen for almost a year that my face still tends to be a little dry and somewhat flaky. So about 2 months ago I tried using moisturizer before using BP and the results were awesome! My face was soft, yet I still have the acne prevention! So for those of you with this problem of still being slightly flaky and dry on the regimen I would say give it a try and see how it works for you. I also had severe acne so I am sure that the BP still works effectively for me after moisturizing:)

Anyway, best of luck to those on the regimen and to my friends currently on the regimen! teehee.gif

PS: I have been supplementing vitamin D at 6000IU per day for the past two and a half weeks and its cleared my moderate backne and body acne. Highly recommend everyone look into it! ;)

New pic everyone, of myself this time :)

In my gallery!

Yay I am so happy that you are going to start the regimen soon!!! That makes me happy :) And thank you for the compliment, they also make me happy lol:D I am sorry to hear that your current routine isn't working so well, but at least you can rest assured know the regimen will work, as me and hundreds of others on this site bear witness to its effectiveness. Dan doesn't think that sunscreen is important, but I disagree. This is because BP makes you r skin incredibly sensitive to the sun, and so if you are outside your face will burn! Increases skin cancer risk and you will age faster than you should. These, to me, do not sounds appealing. Now I can understand people can be worried about adding new products into their routines, so every person has to decide for themselves what is best for their situation but if you can get yourself a trustworthy sunscreen like, Nuetrogena Breakout Free Sunscreen SPF 30 or 50 you can you the protection you need and fight acne at the same time. Again, I am just expressing my opinion :)

So for me it is important!

Anyway, I am super glad that you will start. You will have to post pictures and a post about your progress and let me know when you do so that I can be there to support you like you have for me ;)

Wow, your skin is looking great! I'm going to start the regimen soon, I would be so happy if my progress turned out anything like yours. My skin has gotten better very slowly, but I still get breakouts once in a while, which shows the ineffectiveness of what I'm using right now. I have a question though, how necessary is sunscreen? In all of Dan's videos and outlines of the regimen, he always shows it as a 3-step process: cleanser, treatment, and moisturizer. But he never really talks much about sunscreen. Is sunscreen really that important?
