#3380187 I Know What Keeps My Clear...

Posted by whoartthou1 on 03 September 2013 - 04:20 PM

Hey guys, I have finally figured out the foods that I can consume that keep my 90% clear. The problem for me is that there are times where I cannot follow my exact diet and I end up breaking out. Gotta find a way around this... anyways, the following is what I have found that keeps my clear:

1) Complete avoidance of dietary lectins. That means no grains of any kind, most dairy products are forbidden (will explain more on this later), no nightshades, no nuts that contain skin (such as walnuts or almonds), and obviously no junk-food or processed food. Here is some information on what are lectins: http://www.marksdail...le.com/lectins/

2) The following are the foods that I eat: leafy greens, fruits (usually one or 2 pieces of fruit a day... more than that causes breakouts), Grass fed AND finished meats, wild caught fishes (MUST BE WILD CAUGHT ONLY), healthy fats (extremely important) such as avocados, olive oil, coconut oil, grass fed butter (not sure if this causes acne to me, still trying to figure it out), macadamia nuts and thats about it.

Regarding the dairy, I have noticed that dairy from european countries does not seem to give me AS much problem as american dairy... probably because american cows produce lectins while european cows do not (european cows are also grass fed while american cows are not). I have tried goat milk... I mean I still get acne so I am not sure if goat milk is the cause of it, but my acne is way better once following this diet (like I said, 90% clear). Yogurt no matter what gives me acne and same with whey protein. Hard cheeses however do not seem to bother me at all.

Regarding sweet potatoes... I do eat them at random times and I am still uncertain if they cause me acne. I think ideally avoiding all carbs except leafy greens and some fruits is the way to go.

If I was a perfect individual I would follow this diet everyday... but I am not perfect and there are times where I cheat and bam the acne reappears.

I highly recommend EVERYONE to give this diet a shot. I can almost guarantee you that your acne will clear SIGNIFICANTLY on this diet.

P.S. regarding fruits... some fruits give people cystic acne, i.e. oranges or bananas. I guess the only way to be certain is to try that fruit and see the result.

I do know this, when I am on an incredibly strict diet (That makes me starve), my acne decreases substantially. For me, food clearly plays a role

But haven't you told us you have problems with fats? Have you done anything to improve your ability to metabolize fats?

Yes I have done everything except digestive enzymes. I guess that is the next step, its just I am afraid that digestive enzymes may break me out as well. Also, don't know which brand of digestive enzymes are ideal

It is quite ironic how a lot of these dermatologists have flawless skin... so as patients you think "wow they have perfect skin, maybe they can get me perfect skin as well" The funny thing is these derms probably never had a single skin issues in their lives. They have no idea about anything other than the hogwash they are taught in school

#3351645 Still 99% Clear After No Carb Diet

chocobot, what about stress. How does it effect your acne?

I am not usually stressed, but when it happens I feel it in my stomach first, then bad digestion occurs, and then acne likely flares out.

One thing that is really weird about me, some days let's say I hear a weird noise in the walls, or from my PC, or any other random noise that sounds like something not working properly, I feel something going on on my cheeks where I usually have acne, sort of like a little tingling. Not sure why, difficult to explain how it feels.

Oh and if I skip meals, I feel terrible, my stomach goes crazy, and I get loose stool afterwards. Usually followed by breakouts. I can lose weight very quickly if I skip meals and it's never been good for my acne.
Me too on the tingling on my cheeks lol. It is probably mental but sometimes I feel Like a tingling where my acne is as if it is forming there. And no acne will be in that specific space. It's almost like I feel the acne forming in a matter of seconds which is not possible.

Yes. How have you gotten rid of your acne?

I haven't yet... only about 75 percent of the way there, give or take. I got rid of my cysts, which is a big plus, but I have at least one white head still showing up every other day or so. My back has cleared up as well pretty good, but my chest is the same (not many spots though). I have about 2 small pimples at a time, so when those go away, another shows up elsewhere. Given what I was like when I came here, I'd say that's an amazing improvement. I also accidentally discovered triggers for my eczema, something I thought I was going to have to live with forever.
My triggers for acne are milk, caffeine (especially coffee), sugary/processed/boxed foods, soy(???), and anything that flares up my eczema because the rash on my neck and face also causes me to break out... It's like two little devils that work incognito with each other.
That sounds like my acne. It's so annoying how after 1 pimple clears another forms. It's ridiculous. That is amazing that you have cleared your acne so much and is a great accomplishment to have done that by yourself with dietary changes. I have done the same thing and it has taken months or research and experimentation.

Thank you for this post so imformative i wrote a similar one to this talking about dairy products being a culprit dieting and such...At the moment i amchucking back water like i think its the last gallon of it on earth lol i've been drinking 3 liters minimum a day i am gonna try up the ante now am going take out gluten out of my diet.Seems the holistic approach is the only one i haven't tried i am going to see where it takes me because i am sick of these treatments you have to keep buying and buying and buying and its been so many years...sigh!

I think everyone who starts the dietary approach to acne tends to end up in the same place. They figure out that sugar, dairy, and refined carbs are causing their acne.

The way I look at it, most people can get clear from omitting dairy/sugar and refined carbs. There are some unfortunate souls (I am one of them), who have to have a flawless diet to be 70-80% clear

#3351514 How much fruit should you really eat?

Posted by whoartthou1 on 24 May 2013 - 12:36 AM

From my experience, stay away from fruits. If they are your only source of sugar or carbs, 2 maximum fruits a day

#3350776 Rotisserie Chicken

Posted by whoartthou1 on 21 May 2013 - 07:59 PM

Yes, i would not reccomend chicken. If you want to eat meat, either eat wild caught fish, or pasture raised red meat

I can't give up chicken lol. Is this a problem with organic chicken as well, or just regular chicken?
Arsenic is also in fish, other poultry, rice, drinking water and many other foods. A lot of farmers have stopped using it. If your chicken is "hormone antibiotic free organic" you'll be fine.

I like it when people post links so, here ya go!
This is about arsenic in chicken.

http://www.nytimes.c...well.html?_r=2

Arsenic is probably in farmed fish, but don't see how it can possibly be in wild caught fish.

Interesting article. I would still stay away from chickens, unless they are on a 100% pasture raised diet.

In most of human history, we did not consume chickens.
