this is the result of two years of hard work. I've been through hell finding what works for me but I believe I am finally here

 

 

Aright so I've given you guys my story quite a few times now so here's the tl;dr

 

TL:DR I Fed my carb addiction left over from pre paleo through fruit and starchy tubers without noticing how bad it was, think about how much fruit and sweet potatoes you eat a day if on paleo. probably over 100g of carbs per day via fructose and sweet potatoes. Thats fine with a good gut but wont work if its recovering.

 

I've had to go pretty strict now, I used to still eat aged cheese (2 years) cheddar almost lactose free, as well as things like tomatoes and onions. Slowly I realized, fruit were messing me up. so I cut those out recently. Then I learned its not just fruit, but I had begun on the right track. It's FODMAPS, which encourage to SIBO. There have been two trends on this board, people getting rid of their acne by going paleo, and a long time, fructose free was a big deal before the paleo wave. No one really seemed to think of combining them except some anti-candida people and they only cut out fruit. the thing is, there are molecules other than fructose which will have the same effect on your stomach.

 

I have started eating the diet which I have linked My face is much less inflamed than it has ever been. I will admit, this is a bit boring but IT WORKS, and on top of that, I feel really good. Right now I'm really only eating

meat, green beans, carrots, eggplant, some butter cooked with meat, a good amount of coconut oil, and olive oil. maybe once a week ill eat some broccoli and cauliflower for the nutrients even though it sets me back just a tiny bit

. I am glad that I have finally combined my knowledge to cure my acne and am excited to see the results of the rest of the board with this method. I hope that in sharing this with the rest of the people on here who have chronic moderate to sever acne, we may have found the most applicable cure. I await your results, friends.

I have to work soon but I'll try n reply to most of you. I plan on staying paleo as long as I can, and the probiotics were added just this month. And @onefatalgoose I've never used topicals, because I feel like its just covering up and underlying problem, I'd rather see what my body wants to tell me, know if I'm doing it right or doing it wrong.

@joner i think probiotics are equally as important as a good diet

4 months of paleo, 1 month of probiotics. Acne is mostly a digestive inflammatory problem. Please check out White fox's thread if you really want to get clear and dont want an overnight fix. I'd like to to thank him for taking the time to come back and help the community even after he was clear, a very rare trait.

you guys have not heard fromme for a week or two and with good reason, I havent been getting on the board. I'm finally clear, and like most people didnt want to jinx myself or cry wolf the first day. I was on paleo for four months and discovered probitoitcs and began taking them one month ago. I was able to get away with a little cheating too and im STILL CLEAR. during this four months, I've smoked ciggarettes, I've drank beer, I've eaten aged cheese NEVER CRAPPY PROCESSED CHEESE, A god awful for you chick fil a sandwich, a krispy kreme doughnut, at least 20 dark chocolate bars (85% or above). I've even eaten a serving of my grandmother's lasagna just to make her happy.
Does this mean I wasnt strict? Hell no, I'd often go weeks without cheating, then cheat a little within a short period (Family get-togethers, parties, etc) Mostly almost when I had to. The point is when you cheat, DONT STRESS ABOUT IT, and if you have any form of self discipline you shouldnt be cheating much, This diet is like being on cocaine 24/7.
I got clear with four months of paleo, and one month of probiotics. Nothing else, nothing special, there was no supplement I took daily, no juice fast, no liver cleanse. I would reccomend you guys a fair amount of wild caught seafood. I took pb8, 365 probiotics, and primal defense ultra, not all at the same time though. Currently on primal defense and 365. I drank kefir and ate sauerkraut, and although i think kefir is good for you, cutting it out after about 3 weeks of drinking it seems to be slightly helpful with inflammation. I'll be happily eating this way for as long as I can afford, now that my gut flora is right and I'm on the perfect diet, I've never had energy like this. I wish good luck to you all, and if you are on paleo and probiotics, dont worry, you're on the path to success.

Been on paleo for almost 3 months, introducing kefir and probiotics into my diet as well as an extensive amount of garlic and onions. sometimes a spoonful of coco oil. wish me luck! very close already.

I started Paleo once about a year ago, but didn't follow through because the first week my skin showed little improvement, I felt it actually got worse.Ever since my sophomore year in high school, I have been interested in health, nutrition, and alternative medicine. One week before prom back in april, I began paleo. I read stories of other people clearing up completely, and after two months, I wondered what the hell I could be doing wrong. I had read in various threads all this crap about, "find out what you're allergic to". The entire time I put that off for multiple reasons 1. I'm a healthy individual, why would I be sensitive to anything? (seriously though I've kept in good physical shape all my life, never had any allergenic attacks either, so I assumed my body was god against all allergies.) 2. If I was allergenic, I would have noticed, and why would allergies cause breakouts.
I have been eating almonds since my Freshmen year in high school. I began eating almonds to clear up my face, for their vitamin e content. Only .2% to .5% of the worlds population is known to be allergic to almonds. Of all the crazy things. I drank almond milk in the morning every morning, I mixed it into my berry smoothie. I ate plain almonds as a snack at school occasionally. I ate almond butter as a snack after I gave up my smoothies and for some reason, got stomachaches often after eating plain old almonds. I would get occasional bad feelings after almnd consumption for years, but I didnt notice it or connect it to almonds once.
Tl;Dr: Your allergies could be something you've been eating for years without noticing because it is so subtle.

The Diet
I started eating only meat, eggs, seeafood, nuts, vegetables,fruits, and coconut and olive oil around april. My diet was restricted to these things, unlike some people I included sweet potatos to no harm, and I even cheated every once in a while to no problems. A month in on the diet I discovered another users post about not drinking water until 2 hours after eating or 2 hours before. I adopted this for awhile and saw positive changes, this is neccesarry for anyone with weak digestion. Now that I'm clear I can get away with just not drinking any water with my meal or maybe half a glass. No wheat, no dairy, no soy.

The Diet: Two weeks in
Now your body is getting used to paleo. And you're pooping all that grain that was stuck in you out. You're buying TP buy the pound at walgreens daily. You've got enough energy to play with small children.
Now we must do what took me so long, find out what you are alllergic to.  When I cut out almonds my skin actually got worse for about three days, then cleared up completely. Your body is in a mode where it is used to dealing with the allergens you are feeding it so when they no longer enter the body, it needs a little time to adjust, and it also releases the remaining toxins of the food.
First, Cut out nuts, you can get enough fat from oils and meat. After a week, you may have broken out and now your skin is doing better. Avoid whatever nuts you were consuming before and try to find out which ones are ok. NO PEANUTS. NO. THEY ARE LEGUMES MY CHILD. NOT NUTS.

The Lowdown
This diet basically forced me to shop at whole foods. WHEN BUYING MEAT, DONT TOUCH THOSE LITTLE DELI HILLSHIRE FARM CUTS, THAT SHIT IS WHITE DEVIL DEMONOLOGY AND CONTAINS SO MANY PERSERVATIVES AND NITRATES.
When you are starting paleo, you gotta take out the food additives and preservatives. They arent natural and your body has no idea what to do with them. I buy applegate hamburgers, sausage, and turkey burgers for my meat, and I buy their uncured hotdogs for my refrigerated meat. I buy Air chicken organic pastured chicken at harris teeter. Focus on organic and natural produce. Buy mostly organic produce, wild seafood like salmon and tilapia or halibut.

I dont feel like summing the whole paleo diet up because everyone in holistic has heard of it by now and you have google. But dont eat sugar, legumes, bread, muffins, rice, pasta, pastries, and wheat product. and for gods sakes, not dairy. Legums dont include green beans, green beans are the bomb.com
