Natural Remedies Black/whiteheads

02 April 2013 - 11:56 PM

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could suggest any natural remedies for blackheads and whiteheads.  Thankfully I am about 90% clear of inflamed acne (thanks to holistic healing).  However, virtually my entire face is still extrememly congested, and I can't figure out how to get rid of all these black and whiteheads. At times, a few of them will become inflamed and turn into pimples.  So far I've tried jojoba oil, Aztec clay, and egg whites but I haven't seen much improvement.  Is their anything I can take internally or perhaps something in my diet that I need to add or remove? Thanks!

Natural Remedies For Deep Cyst

02 February 2013 - 12:21 PM

Hello! I've had a deep hard cyst under my chin area for several months now; it's not visible and has remained the same size, but it has not gone away. It never bothered me until yesterday when I began to experience pain which I thought was soreness of throat. Now I've realized that it's the cyst that is causing the pain. It hurts to chew and swallow food and it hurts to speak or make certain head movements.  I would like to know if there is anything I can do holistically to get rid of it. I really don't want to go to a dermatoligist unless I absolutley have to (I've had bad experiences with them). Any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks.

Please Read This Before Quitting The Regimen

01 January 2013 - 04:34 PM

Hello all,

Perhaps this has been mentioned before, but I just really wanted to give a warning to those of you who have been on the Regimen (or have been using BP) for an extended time period and who have decided to quit it: Please Please Please don't quit cold turkey!!! Don't just stop using it from one day to the next because you will run the risk of experiencing a more severe breakout. Instead, slowly wean yourself off of it.  For example, you can start by using it once a day for a week or so, then use it every other day for another week, then every three days etc... Also, don't quit the regimen one day and immediately start using new products the next. Give your skin time to adjust itself.  Your skin may or may not break out, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

All this may seem like common sense, but I was clueless and I paid dearly for it. I was on the Regimen for almost three years and it worked wonders at first, but towards the end the the third year, I started breaking out again and my skin just couldn't handle it anymore; it was extremely dry, scaly, and dull, and I started to notice dark shadowy patches on my face (particularly around my chin area). I quit the Regimen cold turkey and soon afterwards I experienced the absolute Worst breakout of my life at age 29!! It was a nightmare. I eventually got it under control using holistic methods (took me almost a year).  But I have been left with terrible scars (physical and emotional).

Anyways, I hope this is beneficial to you all.

My Derm Had Acne!

20 December 2012 - 12:10 AM

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to share a crazy experience I had at the dermatologist several years ago.   I had stubborn acne that did not want to go away so I decided to go the the derm and have her check it out.  I was in the exam room and when she walked in, I saw that she had an acne break out that was worse than mine!!  My mouth just dropped and my mind went blank lol!  After the initial shock, I felt embarrassed so I lied and told her that my main reason for going was because I was having dry skin issues (lame, I know) and then I sort of mentioned my acne problem.  She said lots of people struggled with it and kind of laughed as she pointed to her own face (it wasn't terrible, but still significant). She gave me a prescription for antibiotics and sent me on my way.   I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I left...I'm still not sure how I feel about that experience. Needless to say, I never went back to see her, though I do hope she was able to overcome of her acne issues.

BTW, the antibiotics didn't help at all, and after years of struggling with acne, I'm finally getting it under control with holistic methods.

Anyways, I just thought I'd share! Has anyone ever experienced anything similar?

Can Severe Scarring Be Cleared With Natural Products?

15 September 2012 - 10:52 AM

I have lots of scarring left over from a very terrible break out I had a few months ago.  I have lots of small boxcar, a few icepick, and a few rolling scars as well as loads of hyper-pigmentation marks all over my face.  So while my skin has improved (I'm treating it holistically), it still looks bad due to all the scarring.  I've been using MSM cream, manuka honey, and aloe vera gel; sometimes I'll use lemon juice as well.  I did see improvement for the first two months, however it now seems like my skin has plateaued, I'm not seeing any more impovement (and to make things worse, I've started breaking out again in my chin area).  So I don't really know what to do now..should I continue with these ingredients?  Is there anything else out there that might get rid of all of this scarring?  Can damaged skin ever go back to it's pre-scarring state...is there still hope for me?  I would hate to have to resort to chemical peels or surgeries, but I'm getting desperate...

Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks.
