ACNE HISTORY:

As a child I use to have one or two small pimples show up on my face every few months. When I turned 12, they began showing up almost every week. Acne suddenly became the norm when I turned 14, and hasn't left me since. I have never gone onto the internet for help with my acne before, but this community website seems to be a great place to start. I look forward to reading more stories from everyone else and learning about skin/health/acne as much as I possibly can.

ABOUT MY FAMILY:

My skin is genetically(?) oily since my father, mother, and grandparents have all had acne and acne scarring. We all wake up with sheets of oil on our faces. Unlike my father who's severe acne eventually went away later into adulthood, my mother still gets numerous cysts and pimples to this very day. My father has huge dime size acne scars on his back, left over from his childhood when he turned 35.

*** My family consists of EVERYONE blood related to me... of every culture, of every shape and size, of every ethnicity, and of every background. EVERYONE in my family has had acne before. My family members who have darker skin than myself are NOT spared from acne. Everyone related to me has at one point in their life suffered from severe acne.

ABOUT MY ACNE:

The majority of my acne shows up directly on my face and neck, whereas the rest of it will seldom appear on my chest, back and shoulders. Rarely is it on my arms and thighs. My face is always the worst. The majority of my breakouts are usually cysts and white heads. My skin is extremely oily on my face and only my face (nose and cheek area). I get the majority of my acne around my chin, often appearing as though I have a 'beard' of acne. The sides and under-chin/cheeks of my face are far more infected than the front view of my face. There is no pattern for my acne (such as the "T" shape, only on the back, etc).

MY REGIMEN(S):

I'm showing off my pictures and occasionally journalizing my regimens and experiences as often as I can. My pictures are always updated, but I do hope to see the same thing from others. * Acne.org Regimen (Dan's Regimen - 2.5 BP) (01/11/12 - 04/01/12): SUCESS!

1.) Cetaphil Facial Cleanser (16oz) (1 pump).
2.) Acne.org 2.5 BP Treatment (16oz) (1 pump).
3.) Cetaphil Facial Lotion (16oz) (2 pumps) with Acne.org Jojoba Oil (6oz).

* Second and Third Regimen (Tea Tree Oil) (04/03/12 - 08/05/12): FAILED/STOPPED!

1.) Cataphil Facial Cleanser/Neutrogena OR Basics Soap (1pump/bar) with Tea Tree Oil.
2.) Cataphil Facial Lotion (16oz) (2pumps) with Jojoba Oil (6oz).

* Final Regimen (08/06/12 - Present): CURRENTLY ON...

1.) Diet --> No Dairy, No Sugar, trying to avoid gluten, More vegetables/fruit, Lots of water, etc...

2.) Exercise.

3.) Lifestyle.

AN ACNE FREE FUTURE:

To put it frankly, my last and only hope for getting rid of my acne is to change my entire diet and lifestyle. This is literally my last hope. I'll be here journalizing my regimens, but I would love to hear from you guys your own stories as well. Best of luck!
