hyperpigmentation describes just the red marks left over from inflammation. Scars describe actual texture changes in your skin (whether it's pits or raised scars). Scars are typically the result of more severe acne pustules.

Really depends on your skin. I have olive/darker tone skin and it literally takes a year to fade. After accutane, you can do peels or retin-a for quicker results. Believe me, hyperpigmentation is a lot easier to deal with than acne scars.

You'll need 114 mg/day to 185 mg/day (for 125 mg/kg and 150 mg/kg respectively). I don't know if your dermatologist will want to prescribe a dose that high. You might want to talk to him/her about extending your course another month. Best of luck!

Your scars aren't getting worse, but they may be more pronounced because the accutane is causing old pimples and inflammation to subside.
