Unless you still have active spots, there really is no point to continue using differin on your skin. I found that it just kept my skin super dry and red, until i finally stopped using it. You shouldn't break out either if you do
People say it can take years for red marks to go away, but I think it really depends on your type of acne. I find that if I get primarily whiteheads, the red marks they leave behind seem to fade faster in comparison to "deeper" spots such as cysts. I also find that on some areas of your face, red marks seem to heal faster. For example, for whatever reason, if I get a spot above my lip area, the mark seems to be gone in almost a week. But thats just me.
Red marks mostly go away with time, but there are methods that people use to try and speed up the process. For example, exfoliating, puting aloe vera / lemon juice on your marks, etc
I'm pretty much the exact same, my acne alwayys turns to white heads. Small, big, anything. Even some really painful spots will. I wish I knew why as well.
