In Topic: Should I Go On The Pill?

22 July 2013 - 03:35 AM

Hey!

I had the implant put in last September and I stayed on the contraceptive pill because my period woudn't settle. I'm worrying that it's bad to be on both so I'm having it taken out. As far as my skin goes I was clear before having it in, then ever since, my acne has returned. (Also on BP cream so i shouldn't be getting any type of spots!). The nurse switched my pill to Marvelon to help with my skin but I don't think it's getting the chance to work with the implant in. I would suggest taking only the pill purely because like me, you'll be overloading your body on hormones :)

http://www.amazon.co...ywords=acne.org

With postage this comes to £18 - compared to the same amount of Quinoderm, it works out £5 cheaper - even with postage charges added.

Literally theeeeeeee best BP you can get. And the tube is massive and it will last you months and months. smile.png

I have about two weeks worth of cream left

It takes about 2 weeks to arrive in the post, this is not a coincidence it is fate that you have to order it now omg

Ahh, thank you! I've not heard of this one. I'm guessing you have used this or currently using it? :)

In Topic: Benzoyl Peroxide Manufacturing Problems.

I tried on the net but it was nowhere to be found. Even the manufacturer had withdrawn it.

Luckily I found a chemist after hunting that had some old stock in. Hopefully it won't be too long before everything is back out again. :l

Have you tried any tea tree products? Maybe the body scrub followed by a tea tree ointment. It's good stuff, everyday and night. It dries the pimples out really well, can take a while but it should take the redness away at least. And it's cheap.

If not, Zineryt is really really good! It's prescribed and it's a topical solution. I had acne on my back and that cleared up almost instantly. Not so quick on my face however. After time it all cleared up, but my back was the first to go.

Hope this helps at all, keep looking around, there's something that will work :)

In Topic: How ya feelin' about your acne today?

13 April 2012 - 09:42 AM

The past 5 years have been horrible, what's worse is feeling so alone about it all. Your friends say things like 'You can hardly see them' or 'there's nothing there' but you know how you look. I spent most of my time analysing my face in any mirror I could find, maybe expecting something to have changed since the last time I looked in the mirror. I've been up and down but my skin is looking a lot better this past week so i'm trying to make the most of it before everything goes belly up again. Being positive definitely made me think differently about my skin :)
