Nah, he doesn't. Treatments I know he does perform: subcision, dermapen (with PRP), TCA cross. Might not be an exhaustive list, but I know he does those.

In Topic: Laser-Treatment in Sweden

Hello !
Is there anyone in this forum that is from sweden and has had laser-treatment for scars ?
I went to the doctor today to talk about Acne. And she said I could get laser-treatment for my scars for free. (I dont have very deep scars)
I thought it cost ALOT of money for those kinds of services?

Anyways, my Questions are:
Is there different laser-treatments available ?
How does it work ?
Does it hurt when its done ?

Regards
Fredrik

How can it be free?

In Topic: How I Got Rid Of My Acne Scars

Hey, thanks for posting this. I've read a lot of your posts over the past couple of years; it's encouraging to see another 'veteran' (as you put it!) getting the results they desired and deserved. Sadly I still have a long way to go in my journey but I dream of being able to post a thread like this in the future.

My question is -- how many needling/rolling/dermapen sessions would you say you've had in total?

In Topic: Is Doctor Khan In London A Good Doctor ?

I got the same procedure without PRP. This treatment is available only at the Hamersmith hospital and I had some difficulties trying to book an appointment there. How did you get your appointment?

I got a referral letter sent from my NHS GP to his office which got me a consultation (which I had to pay for, and I had to wait around six weeks for that). I then booked in for my first session - I think the wait was two-ish months - and recently had my second session. Am spacing them three months apart to help me save the money needed.

Hi, Thanks for this info!!!! You have just made me very curious!!! Hope it all goes well for you at your next appointment. Pls do ask him about this new dermapen device. As I fly from abroad I have to see him at the private clinic and might as well get the new dermapen if he offers it by then. I have my next appointment in December.

I would also recommend you Prof Chu. He is simply the best specialist you can consult. He does care for his patients and is not out there for the money.

A tip from me-see no other than Prof Chu if you go to his private clinic- the other doctors there are no good!!! I had bad experience with one of them that resulted in more scarring. I was inconsolable for weeks sad.png

From the info on his website on his CV I got under the impression that Dr Khan is neither a certified dermatologist, nor a surgeon, but a GP. That's what put me off wanting to see him in the first place.

ye he does seem like a money grabber

Hey Pumpkin21,

what brand new dermapen do you mean? He has been treating patients with the dermapen for over a year now. Or is there some novelty that I am not aware of?

Btw I have had 2 dermapen procedures and it is wayyy better than the roller in terms of pain and results.

ye i have read a lot about dr chu does he do scar treatments on the NHS

Read my other post, if you want best in UK go and see Dr Chu. There is no better and least he is credible, Dr Khan is not

He does NHS and private, you will be waiting much longer for NHS. Although I am on NHS i would have no hesitation paying for his services and I am contemplating doing so to undergo the brand new dermapen treatment he is getting hold of soon.

Hi sorry for delay, the new dermapen is one which offers even more punches than old version, Dr Chu is getting it and will offer it as private treatment only. Said it works even better from tests already done and is less painful.

I will ask him more when I see him on next appointment by which time he should have it

I saw Chu two weeks ago and he mentioned this to me - said it was due to arrive that same week, so I imagine he has it by now.

Regarding Khan, the guy is simply in it for the dollar; you can tell that as soon as you step into his office and check out the decor. For £300 when I see Chu I am able to get subcision, TCA Cross and Dermapen with PRP. When I went to see Khan, he wanted £500 (in 2011) just for subcision.
