Topics I've Started

Intermittent Fasting

04 September 2013 - 02:13 PM

Ever heard about this?

I was indtroduced to it by a youtube video regarding bodybuilding. I have been struggling with acne for a long time. It started when i was 13 and i am 21 now. It was severe, so people can probably relate to how it feels and how it affects our lives tremendously.

The reason why i started Intermittent Fasting is because I wanted to lose weight effectively without being hungry alot, wich gave me horrible mood swings. I dropped from 13-14% fat to 9% over a few good months, didnt lose much muscle in the progress. As i started to drop the fat, my skin became more clear. After about 2-3 months, it was all gone. Of course I have a small pimple here and there like everybody else, but i was completely "cured".

I am currently on a bulk, wich means I have to eat alot more to gain weight. This gives me a fair amount of acne, but that doesnt scare me because i know why -> I eat like a pig sometimes and dont care about acne...

I want to make it clear that i dont drink milk, but i do eat dairy products at a moderate/low rate and I KNOW this affects acne. Im also a firm beliver in the blood type diet, although i dont strictly follow it, I believe it contains valuable information on how our body reacts to food.

I have also been handed antibiotics wich didnt work, and started a cycle with isotretinoin i was too scared to finish.

Get to know your body, it takes a s!&% load of time and isnt easy, but you will be able to "shape" it as you wish afterwards.

Go to leangains.com to get information on Intermittent Fasting. This is NOT a diet, its more like a dietary tool.

For those of you who dont want to read alot about it. The deal is that you eat coherent for 8 hours or less a day...

Dealing with parents...

Hi everybody

I have been suffering from severe back acne for 5 years, since i was 14. I have only tried to find my cure the last year, tried everything like everybody else in here. But then i was lucky enough to get an prescription for accutane, did a 4 month long research before i startet treatment one week ago. This was a short-lived joy. My mother came to visit me  2 days ago and i told her i had started accutane treatment. It didnt strike my mind that she is also quite abit hypocondriac. I could see it in her eyes that she almost started to cry, it was the same look i got when she discovered i had a drug issue a few years back. She saw the big list of sideeffects, it was as though she read my obituary.
All she does now is trying to talk me out of it, asks me what i will do when my liver shuts down, when i get bald. Im considered quiting the whole treatment, im afraid she will get so worried that she will eventually get sick and ill

For you people out there with prescription pills, how have your parents dealt with it? Did they give you a hard time about it?

One question...

Started my accutane treatment 3 days ago for my bacne, im breaking out more than usual already and i know that's normal. But im getting small pimples on my face now, wich i never used to. I guess this is normal too? Sorry i dont want to waste your time guys, but its impossible to get in touch with my derm.
Oh, and one more question while im on it, when can i expect go get dry lips?

New here...

Hi folks, im new to the board. I currently suffer from front and back acne, its moderate to severe. I had Doxycycline prescribed from my doctor over a week ago and he didnt even take a look at my skin, he just gave me the prescription and told me to use it for 3 months. He told me that i would be cured from acne if this works, is that true? My back is starting to clear up abit now but i still get some acne here and there. I hope my doctor is right, i have had this problem since i was 13 and im 19 now.

Cheers...
