#3344049 Gay And Living With Body Nodular Acne

Posted by Manticore on 29 April 2013 - 05:33 AM

Not sure if I qualify to respond to this thread as I am not gay. LOL.  biggrin.png

But as LewisS says acne.org has a regimen for body acne. I had success with BP on my chest & AHA+ on my back.

Have a look here:-

#3324610 Ads In Posts

Posted by Manticore on 05 February 2013 - 12:53 PM

Ah...sory you're right. It was a couple of extensions in Firefox causing it. I found 2 similar sounding extensions, one called "1Click Downloader 1.6" and one called "OneClickDownloader 1.3" They both had to be disabled to stop the ads. I will now remove them.

Apologies for thinking it was acne.org. blush.png

#3324341 Cannot See Thumbnails

I am using IE8. I've noticed that when a thumbnail has been added to a post, that I just see an empty plain light blue box. I have tried using compatibility mode without success.

OK when using Firefox.

#3323169 Almost 2 Months On The Regimen

Posted by Manticore on 31 January 2013 - 05:42 AM

...I do have some pictures I'm going to post on my 3 month mark, im so excited/scared to show everyone what my skin looked like at its most horrible, and how it has improved, and hopefully will keep improving...

Sounds like you have had great success.

Glad that you will be posting some photos. It is always encouraging for others when they can see actual results, rather than just read about them. Thats why I posted my photos in my gallery.

Good luck with the AHA. I was lucky in that my facial acne left no scars/PIH, although I am using AHA on my back which still has slight PIH from decades of back acne.

#3320937 New Best Answer Feature

If the OP changes their mind, and an even better reply is considered to be the Best Answer, can they change it?

#3167397 New Messageboards - Upgrade in Progress

Posted by Manticore on 11 October 2011 - 09:26 AM

After browsing the forums tonight, I noticed the following:-

1. Large photos in posts are not autosizing, so having to use the scroll bars to try view them. Very awkward.
Fixed...

I am still having problems viewing large attachments to posts.

When clicking on an attachment using the old forums, it used to open a browser window (IE8 in my case) which was set to autosize large images to the window size. If I wanted to see the full size, I could left-click on the image & then scroll around.

With the new forums, a new browser window doesn't open. The picture opens in a box over the forums & doesn't autosize to fit the screen, so I cannot see the whole of a large picture, I have to scroll around. This also scrolls the posts in forums underneath, so after scrolling to the bottom of the photo to close it, I have to scroll back up the page to where I opened it to continue reading the thread.

I will temporarily attach a large image to this post to demonstrate.

Oops...I can't. I've run out of upload space. I will have to find some of my attachments later & start deleting some. Haven't got time at the moment.

Edit...cleared some upload space & added temporary large jpg.

Edit2...no I havent. Cannot attach 600kB photo, despite having 2.5MB of my quota left. Tried basic and advanced uploader but neither work. Just noticed that by trying to edit my post, it has mucked up the text again! This is just getting too much hard work!

#3159959 New Messageboards - Upgrade in Progress

Posted by Manticore on 19 September 2011 - 02:47 AM

Looking good. Uses the whole of the screen now, without wasting all that white space down the sides.
I know the upgrade isn't complete yet, but I've noticed that my avatar has changed places with my photo. I thought I would mention it, in case it was an unintentional bug. Or is it just the colours that have changed? My avatar was blue, and my photo was red. They are now transposed.

Answer: During the upgrade I had to choose what to use by default for each member: picture from album or uploaded avatar. I decided to choose avatar, thus some users without avatars have now default pictures. Also, all animated gif-avatars (small images) were transformed to non-animated 'gif's.
Solution: Please wait a few days until gallery upgrade will be done. If you don't want to wait you can reload your avatar now. BTW, you can access your old profile at http://www.acne.org/messageboard_bc/
Also, the authorization via FaceBook will be available soon, I will try to enable using facebook avatars too.

#3081691 My back acne/ Backne help ! (Pics inside)

I agree with what you have said, although my skin doesn't get sun sensitivity anymore(I guess it had gotten used to it)

The Sun for sure helped out my Body Acne, by not only masking/helping the acne but got a tan.

It's strange that some members, like us, see an improvement when tanning, but others say that it makes their PIH look worse.
