Thanks for that. I have been trying different shampoos for years now for my scalp acne. Nothing has worked so far.

I have managed to get rid of acne on all the other parts of my body except my scalp.

If my current shampoo doesn't help after 3 months, I'll give ceanel a try.

...I've been using benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and dial antibacterial wash. Doesn't really seem to work...

How long did you try those products for?

My problem years ago was that I wanted instant results from everything I tried. If they didn't show results in a couple of weeks, I would go onto something else.

I now know that you need at least 3 months before deciding if something is going to work for you or not.

Not sure if I qualify to respond to this thread as I am not gay. LOL.  biggrin.png

But as LewisS says acne.org has a regimen for body acne. I had success with BP on my chest & AHA+ on my back.

Have a look here:-

In Topic: How Do I Get Off The Regimen Successfully?

Once my face was clear, I decreased the frequency to just 1 or 2 days a week, which I still do now. I did try stopping completely for a while, but a couple of pimples started to appear on my face, so I went back to BP again.

We are all different, so my current regimen may not work for everyone, but once or twice a week is all I currently need to keep my skin clear.

In Topic: Clear Of Acne But Still Not Happy With Results

hi, I had good results with the regimen without ever using anywhere near the amount of bp as it recommends.

I tried that in the beginning but it was just too much/irritating, plus my gave felt goopy as if it never really absorbed in. I only ever used at most, a nickel-sized amount of bp and less moisturiser than that and had clear skin in a few weeks. Id also recommend you dont wait in between washing/drying/adding products. For me, applying the products one after another caused less irritation.

I also agree with the other poster, you may only need this at night or a few times perk week.

This worked for me well until my hormones got out of control, and I went on yaz and herbal supplements. Im now pretty much clear even if I dont use anything, but I still use bp once in a while 'just in case". Old habits die hard.lol.

ps if youre male and shave that adds to irritation, some people find shaving less frequently or even with warmed olive oil is less irritating too.

I agree. I only used the smallest amount possible to spread thinly over my face.

I don't see any reason to keep applying the full amount after you are clear, particularly if is causing redness.

Once I was clear I only used BP once or twice a week (I still do) as a maintainance course.
