In Topic: Epsom Salt For Everyday Use?

29 May 2014 - 10:51 PM

Its best to just take a nice hot bath in it for 20-30 mins a couple times a week. Or you can pour some epsom salt In a bowl and add some hot water, soak a clean wash cloth in it, ring it out and drape it over your face. Do that a few times. Then just apply your regular face products. You can also do the wash cloth thing in the tub. That's what I use to do and it works pretty good.

Hope this helps

Try hot/cold showers. It's where you switch between really warm shower water and cold shower water several times, always ending with cold water.

Focus on the neck, back, armpits, chest, stomach and of course your head.

How about you try only using the retin a  couple times a week.

I am 25 and suffer from closed comedones as well. The only thing that completely got rid of mine was bactrim(its an antibiotic) but they returned after I was done with my prescription.

In Topic: Skin Purging

I don't really believe in skin purging from topicals. I've used all kinds of stuff for acne, you name it ive probably tried it.

This "purging" of the skin is really just irritation. You're irritating your acne along with the healthy parts of your face or wherever you're treating. Small pimples become larger, new ones crop up, under the skin nodules turn into cystic acne or form a head.

"Skin Purging" from my personal experience is irritation from jumping into using an acne product too quickly.

Some people can use bp twice a day, some can only use it twice a week! It's all about figuring out what your skin can handle at first when using a new product, then maybe you can work your way up to using it as directed.

It took me three years  to figure that out.

In Topic: Need Help On Exfoliation And Peeling Skin :c

Salicylic acid only exfoliates the inside of the pore, it won't help with exfoliating the flakey skin you're dealing with.

Try and aha lotion or cream or you can do a manual exfoliation.

I've tried an aha serum and cream before. They both irritated my skin. I just use a manual exfoliation face scrub by Saint Ives. I like the fresh skin apricot scrub, I've also used their green tea scrub.
